LittleBigPlanet tutorial level video and information
ConfusedCartman over at LittleBigPlanet Central got some decent game time in (1.5 hours split up into five 15-20 minute intervals) with the upcoming PS3 exclusive over at Comic Con. There's a whole heap of information on LittleBigPlanet: character customization (Tron suits, Killzone helmets, stickers and magic wands!), the level editor (menu setup, vehicles, event triggers and how to set things on fire!), emoting (SIXAXIS controls your head and hips, leading to hula dancing!) and a level called the Construction Yard ("I stood on the sponge with a friend while another guy dragged it across, and right before we got there I slapped my friend off so I could have the stuff to myself."). ConfusedCartman even filmed a part of the tutorial level for us, after the jump. Or check out the entire article here.

Jam @ Jul 29th 2008 3:05PM
I just do not get this game.
wisconsinista @ Jul 29th 2008 3:22PM
Did you get Mario when it was first released? What about PixelJunk Eden? Are you planning on avoiding the free demo because you "don't get it". How about Marines In Space!?
Westlin @ Jul 29th 2008 3:18PM
Don't get me wrong. I'm really excited about this game but I'm really getting wore out by the constant plugging of this game. All i can think is that it wil end up highly disappointing just like movies that get over plugged. Damn I hope I'm VERY wrong.......
gamingeek @ Jul 29th 2008 3:19PM
I agree. we've been hearing about it for over 2 years now. Just bring it already bitches!
stargateheaven @ Jul 29th 2008 3:35PM
@gamingeek: 2 years? no. It was first announced at GDC *2007*. It's 2008 now. Really, people exagerate about this game.
Devin @ Jul 29th 2008 3:39PM
Unlike movies, games are completely dynamic and up to you on how you experience them.....without news/articles/videos explaining what the game is/will offer, they are only hurting themselves as well as their future customers. You've never played the game so you haven't experienced LBP, but you do know what to expect and how the game will be played. Personally, without all of the hype, I wouldn't know that I am really looking forward to the game and should buy it Day 1.
stargateheaven @ Jul 29th 2008 3:15PM
Best game ever. Impossible to dissapoint!
wisconsinista @ Jul 29th 2008 3:19PM
As is usually the case, another camera man going through withdrawal and shaking. One day, one person, will figure out how to stand still.
Jerses @ Jul 29th 2008 5:33PM
Devin...oh yeah... like haze

You try holding a digital camera above your head so you can film stuff for other people, jackass. Next time why don't YOU pay money to get into comic-com.

Dearest Michael Mouthbreather:
They won't let me into comic-co"n" as I use deodorant regularly.
crazypenguin @ Jul 29th 2008 3:21PM
all of the sites i go on to says that this game lives above the hype, and that even if you've been tracking it down, you won't be dissapointed, so i keep wondering whether i should A) stop watching these fun videos and wait til October or B) keep doing what i'm doing. i'm really leaning towards A here. if only i was in the beta...
LBPNation.com @ Jul 29th 2008 3:46PM
I Would of went to Comic Con but had something to do :(
Nozz @ Jul 29th 2008 4:05PM
hehe the little sackboy outfits can be funny as hell, this game sort of reminds me of Garry's Mod on the PC! lets hope you can manipulate gravity etc....
one thing i wanted to find out though, are user created levels uploaded to a server or do we play it directly from each others PS3's?
If so that would mean the "level" owner would need to be online to play his/her levels which isn't a bad thing, is it??
-.- @ Jul 29th 2008 7:09PM
When does the demo for this game come out?
HanzoTheRazor @ Jul 29th 2008 9:19PM
It's cute, innovative, original, brand new, hardcore, casual, serious, funny as hell and fun. Has everything u need in a game, plus do it yourself!
Mok Swagger @ Jul 29th 2008 10:00PM
Apparently, the amount of server space you'll get to upload levels will depend on how highly they're voted:

Survival of the fittest?
mint400 @ Jul 30th 2008 11:46AM
so this user-created stuff is limited to a level editor using pre-defined elements? you can't like snap a pic with your PSeye and use it as a texture or let the cell work miracles and generate 3D models and such?
is LBP really just a jump'n'run with a level editor?
liam @ Jul 30th 2008 1:11PM
No you can take a picture of something with your pseye and use it as texture or whatever.
Paulmichael @ Jul 30th 2008 3:08PM
Did you watch the video? They clearly snap a photo and use it as a sticker... Also, based on other trailers/live demos that have been shown, you can create any shape you want with basic building tools.
elephant_stone @ Jul 30th 2008 3:32PM
Looks AMAZING!
Was that the HOME loading screen/places screen I saw right at the end? Or something similar?
