Home virtual arcade now includes Dig Dug, Galaga, Pac-Man, echochrome
If you're one of the few that's already in the Home beta, you may have already experienced the underwhelming virtual arcade, located in the Games Space within Home. The new version being released for Japan will expand the arcade offerings, and the new choices look yummy. Namco Bandai is offering seven games within Home, with four revealed already: Dig Dug, Galaga, Pac-Man and Xevious. Three more "secret" games will be revealed later.
More intriguing, a 2D Home-exclusive version of echochrome can also be accessed from within Home. With more and more game offerings being added to the online service, we're confident that everyone will want to access the virtual world at least once -- if only to play these games.

No, dont ask for a date! That only leads to heart-break. Remember that the last date we heard (from official channels as well) was around this time last year.
Sony should have kept their mouth shut about it and pulled a "Video service" on us. Announce it and release it same day :P

I always found Dig Dug to be one of the most delightfully warped concepts for a game. The Battle Pump (or whatever it was called) still has to be one of the strangest weapons ever.
Dan Davis @ Jul 31st 2008 6:44PM
Agreed... I JUST bought it for the virtual console last week, too!
maxpontiac @ Jul 31st 2008 5:52PM
Alright Sony. Enough of the delay's.

What's the point of going online into a massively-multi-player world to play single player games?
Mattchewie @ Jul 31st 2008 6:09PM
its called options. If I'm waiting on my clan I can take in a quick game of galaga.
freker @ Jul 31st 2008 6:00PM
Oh, thats cool!
I like that.
I'm currently trying to think of other Namco classic arcade games...but I think they nailed them.
Also curious how the heck a 2-D version of Echochrome could possibly exist...

Looks good. I hope we get a release date.
iamkid @ Aug 6th 2008 8:54AM
i think you should really stop complaining about it, because its coming soon. i remember that the official ps3 bioshock case had the home logo on it, saw that on gamepro, so we shall assume that itll be out right around them
Malcolm30 @ Aug 10th 2008 8:17PM
They should add Donkey Kong to the Arcade line up. I've been waiting for someone to replicate this since the old Atari and arcade versions. Don't let me down Sony.
