Battle Fantasia for Europe, not for US

Fear not, fanboys, now those who want their experience in English won't have to resort to buying a Xbox 360. Battle Fantasia has been announced for Europe for a release in Quarter 1 2009 on the PS3. The PS3 is region-free, so feel free to import the game when it arrives on the Old Continent.

can't they just give this game the SIREN treatment and make it a 30 dollar downloadable game?

Anyone have tips for the best and cheapest way to import from Europe? Links, etc.?

It's strange because Micromania, which is the biggest video games retailer in France says that the game will be released on September 25th, and it's the same for play.com, a big British retailer too. You can check: http://micromania.fr/reservation/index.php?mach=PlayStation%203 and http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/5538613/Battle-Fantasia/Product.html

Perhaps they mean Q1 2009 fiscal year.

It's interesting that play.com says that the game is region-locked. Pants on fire!

i'm seriously wonder sometimes about some of these 360 exclusives.
Battle Fantasia in particular doesn't make sense as a region exclusive game.
fighting games need to reach a bigger market and moves like this really upset me.
thankfully, it can be imported.
but... am i willing to spend the extra $$$ for a fighting game i might not like. the guilty gear people made this game... and, i dun have the greatest opinion of guilty gear. but i do want to try more and more fighting games.
but companies pulling moves like this make it difficult sometimes.

The demo is on the Japanese PSN store. Its a pretty okay 2D fighter.

This is retarded if it will come to the u.s on the crap box 360 why not the ps3. I know that its region free but the game is already translated in english so this makes no sense to me at all unless m$ paid them or something lol.

Of course Microsoft did. It is clear that they are trying to win this generation by throwing money at developers.

i played the Japanese demo which is why when i heard it was coming to the U.S. i was hoping that meant PS3 as well but anyways the demo was half in english to begin with because the menus, the option section, just basically almost the whole demo was in english except for the voice acting and the text of when the characters would speak

BlazinSun @ Aug 1st 2008 9:57PM
This game looks good, I hope we get in in North America.
Fullmetalcrusade @ Aug 2nd 2008 1:07AM
Dammit, and I JUST imported this from Japan like a month ago(got a really good deal on ebay.)
I honestly don't understand why they won't bring this to NA. What exactly is stopping them? Do they think it just won't make money here? Has Arcs System stated an actual reason?
Professor Lario @ Aug 2nd 2008 12:27PM
Love that box art...
Randall @ Oct 3rd 2008 9:38AM
Did Aksky confirm thats its 360 only in America or is it just going to be like what happened with Eternal Sonata? If its just like how Namco did with Eternal Sonata of having it first on 360 then a year later to PS3 i wouldn't mind the wait because this is a game i can wait patiently for if there is any glimpse of hope for this to come to America
