FFXIII demo to be packaged with Blu-ray Advent Children

The Square Enix party is underway, and what possible megaton news could come out of it? Oh, how about a Final Fantasy XIII demo? Yeah, that might be megaton enough. Just maybe. We guess that would be something meaningful to you PS3 owners, seeing as it is a demo on the Blu-ray version of Advent Children, which seems to scream PS3-exclusive.

Advent Children Complete will not only include an FFXIII demo, but also new trailers and possibly info on other Fabula Nova Crystallis titles such as Versus XIII and the mobile game Agito. Advent Children Complete is expected to hit Japan in March 2009, but it's not entirely clear if other regions will get the exact same treatment. So, are you still bitter over lost exclusivity?

That's nice but the demo does nothing for the NA audience. It won't be in english. Where's the news to make PS3 fans rejoice? Come on, Star Ocean 4 coming to ps3? give me something SE.

Localisation for other regions (including English regions) doesnt start until the game is out in Japan, so I wouldnt expect an english demo for a while... unless they localise the demo, which isnt entirely out of the question, but SE arent big on coddling the english speakers out there.

Assuming you live in the US, it wouldn't be too tough. Japan and the US are in the same region.

PS3s are Region Free so... it was never difficult in the first place. Blu Rays MIGHT be Region Free but... I think it's still optional thing overall. Not 100 percent on this.

I never understood why they don't do localization as soon as they have the dialog ready, so they can do a near simultaneous release, like some other big games?

Might be to keep the game exclusive to Japan for a breif period, it might not have script finalized yet. I know a lot of companies have to wait until there's a group that shows interest in localizing the game. For a game like Chaos Wars Gamestop picked it up and different companies released it than in Japan. That wouldn't apply for Sqaure Enix... They might just be doing it that way in order to make sure that they're going to make a lot of money in Japan because if sales flop in Japan they might just trash the localized versions to other countries. Who can say what goes through the mind of Square Enix now adays.

@Majed Athab that isnt the biggest new its about the other ff13.Agito XIII is going to the psp. and ffvs13 is staying as a ps3 only title

I think that might just be grasping at straws, but it might explain the really strange event name.

On Topic: Meh, I don't really feel like buying a half-assed movie just to play a FFXIII demo. I'll just patiently wait until the game comes out in 2011 :P

That's just a photoshop someone had for fun on NeoGAF. The event is named that because D - Dissidia, K - Kingdom Hearts, Sigma - Sigma Harmonics, 7 - Advent Children Complete, 3 - The 3rd Birthday, and 13 - XIII / VS XIII. And the event is more or less one day, because they have a closed space and have different sessions. They may end the entire thing with an announcement but it's doubtful. Foreign press get to go in tomorrow though.

but it was supposed to show Square was still thinking of their PS3 users. For the announcement, I don't see why a demo can't be bundle with a DVD version of FF7AC complete collection [as well as the bur ray one]? they just haven't said anything about the DVD complete collection yet. the FFXII demo was bundle with Dragon Quest VIII and it's on dvd. they could do the same thing to double dip the dvd collection.

as for the Versus exclusive (FOR NOW). If they could do a XIII 'shock' on us, I dont really believe they won't do the same again next year.

WOW, this is great news, i hope they announce star ocean 4 and infinite undiscovery for ps3, but this makes me really excited as a ps3 owner and psp too, glad i didnt get a 360, otherwise i wouldve missed on this, and the event JUST started! imagine what they announced the next 2 days T_T ITS KILLING ME JUST WAITING XD

lol, its funny reading kotaku.com because they have the same post, and all the 360 fanboys are saying things like "no one will buy a movie just for a demo" "im sure it will be out on XBL soon after" "why should i spend my money on a blu-ray movie, even with ff13 demo i wouldnt get it" its funny, development hasnt started on 360 yet, and all ps3 owners are getting this dvd to watch a decent movie and get a AWSOME demo, i hate multiplatform sites lol, ps3fanboy is so awsome, thanks for making it

I really, really hate to come off as a troll, and despite its problems I love Final Fantasy VII as much as the next guy, but aside from the CG eye candy I would hope no one but the most ardent fanboy would consider Advent Children "decent" by any stretch of the imagination.

Hmm, knowing square they will probably cancel the demo for our PS3 in favor of Micro$ofts truck loads of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. If thats squares way of saying "sorry we stabbed you in the back with a rusty salt covered knife" than i must say thats really pathetic. Why didn't they just make another game for Xbox (a half assed one ) that takes maybe 4 month to make (for extra cash from M$) besides Xbots are desperate for games they would by anything!!

Already have ff vii: ac dvd..
But, maybe i'm considering to buy it.. Hope that bundle will come out to my country (i live at Indonesia, where xbox360 being played by the most of people just because a "piracy" problem).

Rather than those news, i just really hope that star ocean 4 could make it to ps3 also..
