Aya of Parasite Eve celebrates 3rd Birthday on PSP

We were all a little disappointed to hear that a title like Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday was being made for mobile phones way back when it was first announced. The third game in one of the best and most original series Squaresoft ever made (well okay Parasite Eve 2 was admittedly horrible) should not have been brought to such a non-traditional gaming machine. And even though it has taken Square Enix a very long time to finally realize this, the company is actually waking up and doing something about it.

News coming from the Square Enix party unveiled that the game will be heading to the PSP. It is currently unknown if the game is still in development for mobile phones or whether that's been scrapped in place of full-on PSP development. What is known, however, is that the title is scheduled for a 2009 release in Japan. A stateside release is still up in the air, but the fact that it's a PSP game now makes chances much better.

I was REALLY disappointed when I heard this game was coming to cell phones, so this is great news.

Parasite Eve for PSP? Are you kidding me? Calling it AWESOME would be an understatement O_o

I NEED to see more of this. Parasite Eve was one of my fave series back on the PSOne days.

Peve2 sucked. They removed all the RPG elements and added Resident Evil's horrible tank controls.

I think it was a great mix of RPG elements and survival horror elements of the time. The battles weren't all that different from the first game except they weren't random encounters. Once you got into the random encounter in the first Parasite Eve it was pretty much the same as Parasite Eve 2. I love playing RPGs and at the time loved Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Plus I loved the story of both Parasite Eves which to me is a large part of a RPG. I really think that Parasite Eve 2 was just as great as Parasite Eve.

Parasite Eve 3 on the PSP is awesome news. With this and the other FFXIII game for the PSP is awesome news. Now All I want from SE to make Before Crisis come out on the PSP too.

Plus bring these games to the PSP to either with remakes or with new games from the series. I would like to see Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Legend of Mana, Front Mission, Breath of Fire, Bahamut Lagoon, Bushido Blade & Ogre Battle
