Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of August 3rd

Slim pickings all around this week. The PS3 version of Monster Madness releases in America and the developers are keen to suggest that it's far better than the mediocre offering that was made to 360 players. 1Up had a look at it earlier this year and saw improvements, but there's still no telling whether it's actually good or not. Be sure to check out the demo on the PSN store before spending any money. Here's the full release list:

Keep in mind that release dates are constantly subject to change. Also, your PS3 will play any game from any region, so if you're a European or Japanese gamer who really needs to get your hands on Monster Madness right now, you can feel free to go right ahead. You weirdo.

I originally got the demo cos i got mixed up with another game.
So not only was I dissapointed it wasnt the game I thought, but it was a shit game. lol. So dissapoint X2!

I didn't know what the hell it was, so I was pleasantly surprised. I like old-school shooter action. But I wouldn't pay $60 for it, that's for sure. It should be a $10 PSN game.

It turned out to be hardware 2. It dosent sound great. I read it on kotaku then googled major ps3 exclusive announced august 3 and it came up sorry i cant giv a link or something cos im doing this on my ps3.

As for the monster madness, It's actually a good game to play when you have 3 other people around. It sorta reminds me of a 3d zombies ate my neighbor hood from the snes days! Anyway I'm getting it!

does that mean when Final Fantasy XIII comes out in Japan a year or two earlier than in the US I can buy it on playasia.com or something like that and it will work on my PS3?

Sure you can!

But that applies to games only & not movies because Sony took the approach of not locking PS3 games to any specific region this gen.

Feel free to pre-order FF13. I know that I won't because I don't understand the japanese language. (wish I did)

I'm going to pick up Monster Madness this week. My daughter loved the demo, as did two of my friends (the mini-games are especially addictive and really bring out competitive natures.) I wish there were more PS3 games like this with offline multiplayer. At least the new Motorstorm is going to finally have offline split-screen multiplayer!

For $40, Monster Madness is probably worth the price of admission, since I can see this being a fun party game.
