Dead Space prequel Downfall coming to Blu-ray and DVD
A prequel to Dead Space in the form of an animated direct-to-video movie is heading our way October 28th, one week after the game's debut. Available on both Blu-ray and DVD, the 85-minute movie will detail how the spaceship USG Ishimura transformed into a surreal and hellish nightmare when the crew brought an alien artifact aboard the ship. The Blu-ray version will feature 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround soundtrack. Extras unique to the Blu-ray include cheat codes for the game and a digital copy. No information yet as to what the cheat codes do exactly.
After looking at the trailer, we think this movie might actually be worthy of our money. You can pre-order the Blu-ray version here and the DVD version here. Watch the violent and slightly NSFW trailer after the jump.

Added to must buy list. One of my first blurays too. I made the mistake of buying... lets just say 'a bad movie' for my first bluray... ok well it was Bridge to Terabithia.
Stop looking at me like that! There was a small selection and I had already seen all of the good action stuff! *cries*

Don't feel too bad. When I first got my PS3, all Netflix had was Dreamgirls. Good-looking movie, but dreadful to sit through!
I actually didn't mind Bridge to Terabithia as far as kids movies go.

Would be good if they could verify that this is not region locked as I would be surprised if this made it to the old world.

Tip: Check the amazon link

Amazon don't have a clue, check http://bluray.liesinc.net/ for released or soon to be released Blu-ray's, otherwise check the studio regionisation trend for previous releases - Anchor Bay in this case.

wow that trailer was cheesy as hell, seems that EA tried to fit as many clichés as they could into that trailer. The voice acting seems terrible too. "what secrets do you have for us?" lol that part reminded me of Scooby Doo...not good...at least the game looks like it'll be worthwhile.
that girl reminds me of a character from another animé or game...anyone got that same feeling?

As a bonus, they should include this movie on the Blu Ray disc version.

Are you sure it comes out a week after? Whenever I see trailers for the game, it always says Halloween 2008.
