Fallout 3 screens: Detroit edition
It seems that every time there are new images of Fallout 3, there's a strong corresponding theme attached to it. This week is labeled "Detroit edition" for the uncanny resemblance to Detroit's ... urban landscape. We're just kidding of course; we know our Detroit readers out there can take a jesting potshot once in awhile.
Anyway, it's a small update this time around. Just another set of three screens. You can check the rest out in our gallery below.

SalMoriarty @ Aug 4th 2008 4:08PM
The only sure thing about Detroit is that somebody's gonna get shot.
jerard @ Aug 4th 2008 4:19PM
i hate ignorant people that think Detroit is a dangerous city but thy have never been hear
Ballard @ Aug 4th 2008 5:21PM

detroit has good and bad parts, visitors will never see the bad because those spots are off the beaten path
getdownstaydown @ Aug 6th 2008 7:56PM
im from detroit...and it aint nearly as bad as you hear!
PS3Homie @ Aug 4th 2008 8:46PM
Detroit Pistons!!! Next Year NBA Champs
JaseH @ Aug 4th 2008 4:48PM
Lol, look at all the people claiming they live in Detroit.
Anyway, I myself have been to Detoit, and it's really not as bad as it looks in the screenshot, obviously. Sarcasm or not, I've seen worse.

For $60 Ps3 owners only get the game, X360 and PC gamers get the game plus download able contents. I rather pirate the PC version than pay $60 bucks and get less than everyone else. Fuck Bathesda if they think they are gonna fuck me like that. The same goes for RockStar.
bigbluejohnson @ Aug 4th 2008 5:40PM
eh, true. but i hope that by the time i've put in enough hours of fallout to be ready for any add on content that may be offered for the 360, ill be playing killzone 2 instead
Jerses @ Aug 4th 2008 5:32PM
I only see images of detroit...where are the game images?. Im from Mexico (long live 3rd world countries) and i sure can say detroit is dangerous, to me its the best shooter scenario for a game.
bigbluejohnson @ Aug 4th 2008 5:32PM
hahah. i live right outside detroit, and its true that nothing is very wrong aesthetically with the downtown itself. however, it is still a very dangerous city. in fact, id say this is an accurate representation only because its empty. few people (that aren't hobos) actually LIVE in the city, and even fewer visit it for leisure (other than for red wings/tigers games..i won't mention the lions....) at least thats what ive come to realize. i guess the fact that i myself don't ever go to the city either hurts my credibility on that statement
at any rate, can't wait for fallout 3
gaymerxbox360 @ Aug 4th 2008 6:19PM
that pretty much how Detroit looks now...
jerard @ Aug 4th 2008 8:10PM

jerard @ Aug 4th 2008 8:09PM

MrDaBucket @ Aug 4th 2008 8:43PM
That looks to nice to be from the 313.
HanzoTheRazor @ Aug 4th 2008 9:16PM
This game looks HOT! Gotta hand it to Bethesda for good looking games. Oblivion still looks better than most games today and it's around 3 years old now.
kalon @ Aug 4th 2008 11:51PM
to Jerard: Beverly Hills has never been the murder capitol of the U.S.
I'm from 40 miles north of Detroit. I have been to the bad parts. I have some stories but I won't tell them because kids might read it.
jerard @ Aug 4th 2008 11:45PM
yea pistons better win or ima hvae to switch up my teams lol
ck @ Aug 5th 2008 2:49AM
Don't they have shadows in Detroit? Other than that, awesome.
boots555 @ Aug 5th 2008 9:24AM
I live right next to Detroit in Windsor and I don't think it's safe at all. These pics are pretty close to what it would look like in 20 years if they left Kwame Kilpatrick in charge.

I got some news for you, I lived in Flint (near Carpenter and Pierson Roads) and that area is WAY worse than any place Detroit.
In the one-year span I lived in my apartment, 3 people were murdered (in my complex), my car was broken into once and outright stolen on another SEPARATE occasion, and there were no less than 4 rapes. I checked the sex offender registry and there were 5 sex offenders living in my apartment complex. I heard gunfire
The only reason I was living there was for the cheap rent while I went to school (U of M).
Dan Davis @ Aug 5th 2008 10:33AM
Sorry, trying to do ten things at once... that should've said "I heard gunfire on a nightly basis."
The point is, it's a bad place.
Pete @ Aug 5th 2008 11:52AM
So I live on 7 Mile and Detroit is bad, but not that bad. Maybe I'm used to the hood and grimey things happening all the time, but my city is just as bad as many cities in the US. Please don't judge something purely based on what you hear and see on the news. They need to show those kind of things for ratings. Not saying we don't get murders and such out here, but when 5 news stations report on one murder 3-5 times a day, it doesn't seem like it was only one murder by the end of the day.

Dont know why your kidding...I actually know that block in Detroit, lived a few streets over...actually, kinda looks alittle better in this picture. ^_^
