Rumor: Left 4 Dead coming to PS3 via EA in-house development
No other information is given. All we are saying is, if EA wants us to give their port of Left 4 Dead a chance, it better be nothing like the "slideshow" version of the Orange Box that PS3 owners got.

yea, i like how they say its unplayable, but i have it, its perfectly fine, and it looks stunning! plus, on tf2, your right, the lag last for 10 seconds then its gone and totally perfect! ehh..what are you going to do :/

actually, it is confirmed, opm doesnt have a rumor, otherwise they wouldnt waste space printing a page of rumors that could turn out to not be true, left 4 dead CONFIRMED for ps3

As much as Id love to play this. I think Im going to hold off on getting it for a few weeks just to see if it has Orange Box syndrome.
As for the issues with Orange Box. I played both and although the PS3 version wasnt inherintly bad it wasnt as polished as the 360 version. Valve trying to undermine the 'station again. But hey, what are you going to do. Some people just done like the other brand.
Valve is to Sony what Kojima is to Xbox? maybe?

Actually, its a rumour. I have the issue.
Issue 22, September 2008, Page 27, under the column "Rumour Machine" shows a list of rumours, one being that EA will handle Left 4 Dead.

Aye.. this is a rumor, and a bunch of sites like N4G and PS3 Fanboy are ignoring the fact that this small paragraph was posted in the rumor section of OPM.

I would never play this game (i'm easily frightened by monsters that are made up of pixels) but I'm actually not bothered that EA is taking the reigns here. they're given a lot of crap for putting out bad ports but I've yet to see one that is THAT bad. The Orange Box was criticized the worst and those critiques made me delay getting the game but I eventually got it and found that everyone was exaggerating. the games plays great. I can't comment on madden because i've never played one but the FIFA is quite terrible in cinematic frame rates but it sucks equally on 360 and ps3. EA IMO isn't doing a bad job on ps3

I really had no big problems with The Orange Box. Also, the PS3 is horribly lacking in zombie games. Assuming this doesn't come out 6 months after the X360 verson, I will probably pick it up. Of course, I also think it is a rumor.
Can someone out there make a decent multi or PS3 exclusive zombie game? And noone say RE5, it is not a zombie game anymore.

the siren demo doesn't do the game justice. their is more to it than mine picks and shovels. if your a big horror fan you will enjoy this game.

I don't see how the orange box played like a slideshow. all the games played damn well except for two spots in half-life for a couple of seconds, the rest was perfect.

They do. It's just difficult and they are too self-important to be bothered. They are Valve, so they think that hardware should be designed to make them happy.
All the other developers understand that it's about making the gamers happy. Not Valve though.

yeah this better be a good port EA says ps3 will over take 360 ok cool EA says ps3 is the #1 seller for their games pretty cool so what we want is a good port i have a little faith after EA saying in E3 when the ps3 first launched we didn't had much experience but now we do, after all we just want to have fun left 4 dead looks awesome even if the pc whore is developing it :P

Getting it on the PC. Better performance and controls, cheaper and mod support. However for PS3 only gamers this is a nice addition to this years line up.

it's not unplayable. portal rocks. it does have a few buggy issues with loading sometimes and there are laggy spots but pick it up especially if you find a used copy. team fortress is fun too.
i really hope left for dead comes out for PS3 this game rocks. EA is doing well by me.

Mr. Tsang, did you actually PLAY the Orange Box on PS3, or are you just basing your ridiculous claims on what you've heard from other sites? Half Life 2 plays perfectly fine on my system, and I'm sick and tired of people going on and on about how much it sucked. It didn't, plain and simple. Get over yourselves. This game will be fine.

I'm fed up of hearing people that haven't actually played the game call it a "slide-show" despite the fact that there is nothing wrong with it. I have played all the games except Episode 2 and there hasn't been a problem at all.
I think this is one of those things where people hear other people say that it has frame-rate problems and then everyone else who reads that writes it in all their comments, blog posts etc. as if they know what they are talking about.
Please just play the game on the PS3 and make up your OWN mind instead of just listening to everyone else.

How come people don't understand that the Orange Box on PS3 showed just how powerful the PS3 is? Lets be honest it didn't run that much worse than the 360 version. It seems people don't remember the news that the OB didn't use any SPEs! They used not even 1/6th of the PS3's power and it nearly ran as well as the 360 version. I think if EA does the L4D port it will be good. EA showed they can make good PS3 games with Burnout and Bad Company. So I have faith.

those were EA published, but developed by Dice and Criterion. EA's own studios still have something to prove.

Just glad to see that we're getting it. I think EA will do fine. We're seeing a major turnaround with EA I think. But now Activision has taken their place as most despisable game developer.

If the game end up as Orange Box there is not way fr me to get this. Either way if with all the experiences from previous PS3 titles comes into this game and it port WELL I'm going to give a try.
