Logitech unveils premium peripherals for Guitar Hero: World Tour
Not to be outdone by Rock Band's premium drum controller, Activision has announced a collaboration with Logitech to produce a line of "premium instrument controllers." No specific type of controller or prices were given, all we know is they will be "compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour's advanced feature set" and they will begin arriving "later this year." Bruce Lancaster, the VP of Logitech's gaming business compares their entry into the the market for fake instruments to their entry into the market for fake steering wheels. So, what kind of premium "instruments" are you looking for and how much are you willing to dish out for one of these babies?

Wow, the market for fake instruments is really getting out of control in my opinion. If this keeps up I can honestly start to see a backlash happening towards the Rockband and Guitar Hero franchises.

personally I just want a set that can work with both GH:WT and the Rock Bands. I would be willing to shell out a little bit more for them too!

Not to be a stickler for accuracy, but isn't the Joystiq article more appropriately titled? There appears to be no unveiling of the actual instruments, more of an announcement that they will be made. When I hear unveiling, I want to see some pictures.

Is there anything new that can be added to the drum kit and guitar. At this rate I would think they would have done everything.

Rhythm games are just too expensive and too little gain year over year for the ridiculous price. So I think I am done with them for a while.
Well, rhythm games not named "Patapon"

Same here. Both companies are starting to be a pain in the wallet. Well like you said, theres always Patapon.
Pata Pata Patapon Pata Pata Patapon....

But the Rythm genre is the one that has generally the most fun to be had. There's very little that can truly compare to putting yourself into the zone when the music and the controls match up just right and your body starts doing it without you thinking about it.
Music is life. Rythm is gaming. Can much else be said? Besides you can still use your previous stuff and if you don't have your previous stuff then shame on you. I need to start saving up cause my check book is going to be taking some major hits this holiday season. (even though I don't use checks O_o)

Ill be buying one of the guitars... if they somehow happen to have partnered with BC Rich and are making a Warlock style guitar controller.

I will not be supporting either company if they don't find a way to allow ALL peripherals to coexist with each other's games. If they do it on 360, they better d*mn well do it on PS3 IMO.
