Uncharted trophies patch hits North America

Well look-y here. Europe got a patch earlier in the day (or should we say at the same time of the day, given the time zones), but now North America can too avail of the sweet goodness of pirates, curses, and gold with added trophy hunting. You can download the 13MB patch for Uncharted trophies as of right now. Go on and get ready to replay the game and grab those trophies.

A friend of mine saw this game at my house a couple weeks ago and loved it. He said he was gonna buy it and I told him to wait till Trophies hit, which should be "soon." Well, he just bought it and played through it over the weekend because he couldn't wait... lol, one day off!

Ah well, Trophies aren't a big deal anymore without Home anyways.

I played through it 2.5 times. Sometime soon I'm gonna start fresh and just erase my saves... can't wait to find those treasures!

Soon, but probably not as unexpectedly fast as in this case. Naughty Dog already had the trophy triggers set from their medals system. All they really had to do was the artwork for the XMB. The other devs will have to retroactively program in the triggers, which I have a feeling is the toughest part.

True... But buzz was supposed to be released in July, so it might be soon... I heard somewhere that the Burnout trophy Patch will come out before the Motorcycle update, which is in august... And well Warhawk we just have to wait and see what Dylan Jobe has in store for us... Its been a while since he last said anything... Well, im off trophy-huntin =D

Hey, anyone remember if you beat the game on brutal first, will the other awards/trophies for easy, medium and hard be unlocked? or do I have to beat it 4 times?

Yes, if you beat the game on Hard, you'll unlock Hard, Normal and Easy trophies. Good luck on Crushing.

Yep, as pasterymofo already stated: the trophies match the medals exactly. If you finish the game on Hard first you get three rewards ... (for finishing on Hard, Medium and Easy) therefore you get the three trophies at the same time.

Sweet! I couldn't remember. But yeah, not looking forward to Crushing again. I did it last time to 100% the game but it was grueling... I think I'm up for it again to get the Plat!

PROTIP: (for whoever cares)
Blindfire+Melee instant kills are !!REALLY!! useful in Crushing. Blindfire as you run, and so long as one bullet hits them, your first Melee strike will kill no matter their health. You can take out 4 - 5 of those huge guys quick and dive back for cover. Here goes nothing...

Similar scenario for me, I am on the verge of finishing Disgaea 2 and this patch happens, looks like Disgaea 2 will be put on hold for a while lol.

This makes me want to rent the game just a bit more. That Dominoes Pizza order I placed last Friday got me a 30 day trial with GameFly so I might do it for this game.

It's funny, some people base their buying/renting decisions on game length. I base it purely on quality. If it's an awesome game, I must own it... don't care if it's 5 hours or 500 hours. It's like buying a fine piece of art. The size of the canvas has nothing to do with it's artistic value. Plus, a good game I'll replay over and over throughout the years so I might get 100 hours of enjoyment out of a 5 hour game. And a bad 100 hour game I might play for 5 hours and never want to touch it again. Anyways, I'm guessing you buy based on length? Not trying to say your way or my way is better or worse... I just find it interesting.

I usually just rent stuff that I'm not sure if I'll like it or not. Then once I decide one way or the other, I return it ASAP and move on to the next item on my list. There is occasionally an exception though. I'm renting Haze right now with the intent to play through it. The reason for that is I don't really like the game but the story intrigued me... So I wanna find out what happens. I'm not into shooters too much, the game mechanics are kinda boring... like Halo or whatnot... well, a tad better than Halo, but still =P

i always thought uncharted was suckish (coming from a true ps3 fanboy),but now that it has trophies i'll try it out (when it becomes a GH title) i'm such a trophy whore,lol

Just wondering, it sounds like you don't have the game considering you're going to wait for it to drop as a GH so how do you know it sucks?

For the record: it's pretty much universally acclaimed. The production values, the graphics, the story and humour, the action styled gameplay. Sure, each to their own, and while I might accept some people saying they're not in love with the game (like I am), I honestly can't see how how *anyone* who likes games in general would think this one "sucks".

Have you played it? People like different things. It happens. I'd be interested in your reasons for not liking it. Like when myself and friends try to justify why the other party has terrible taste in women.

i played a little bit of it at my friends house,truth be told it was pretty good,but the controls and gameplay were what i found bad.you're right everyone likes different things,it's natural,but maybe i just needed to play it a bit more to really get into it.

I'm still playing through Eden :X. Luckily I don't actually own Drake's Fortune yet and will have about a week to keep collecting in Eden until Uncharted shows up in my mailbox.

II am not having any luck downloading this patch. Everytime I click 'ok' it goes to a black screen and seemingly does nothing. Anyone experience this and if so how did you rectifiy the issue? I own a 60GB PS3 by the way.

Happened to me as well. I basically restarted my PS3 a bunch of times and actually put on COD4 for a while to make sure that it wasn't caught in a loop.

Then went to play Uncharted again and it, eventually, started.

I haven't got a clue on that one. Sorry. I can't imagine that it would be long. How long does it take for your other games to patch? Shouldn't be that much different I suppose.

Still waiting for the Japanese patch and I see all of Asia is waiting too! What's the big deal, why can't they frerkin' release the patch to all regions? SONY makes no sense in this area, on one hand they have region free games and then have region locks on all patches and DLC. =(
