Ozzy in Guitar Hero: World Tour, Lars hints at GH: Metallica

In an interview with USA Today, the prince of darkness himself revealed that he will be appearing in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Like Jimi Hendrix, both Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Zakk Wylde will be available as avatars in the game. Two songs have been unveiled so far:
- "Crazy Train" -- Ozzy Osbourne
- "Mr. Crowley" -- Ozzy Osbourne
Yes, I think we can. Don't believe us? Watch the man tell you himself after the break:

Visions of the MTV Awards display where Lars comes in and takes his stereo away come flooding back.
Hey at least Ozzy is finally in it. He's the self-proclaimed "prince of mother fuckin' darkness" after all. Gotta represent.
Lars @ Aug 7th 2008 4:36PM
What did I do?
MakaiOokami @ Aug 8th 2008 8:04PM
Activision knows that they can't actually compete with the hard work and dedication of Harmonix so they have to resort to tactics like putting Ozzy in the game. What's the point in choosing avatars when the whole purpose is to MAKE your own band... Couldn't they have just given us the tools to MAKE Ozzy's likeness rather than just freakin give us the tools to make him ourselves?
Oh wait that would require them making a quality product other than whoring off the success of other people and relying on user generated content versus actually putting out DLC on a regular basis.

I don't get why people get upset about all the different GH games. It must just be people who have nothing better to do than complain.
I bought GH:3, and I really liked it. GH: Aerosmith came out, and I didn't buy it. Why? I like Aerosmith, but not enough to buy the game for $40 or $50. I was surprised to find that the Activision folks didn't actually break down my door and force me to buy it.
Maybe I'm just smarter than the average person, like MakaiOokami here? Is it just me that realizes that if I don't like a product, I don't have to buy it?
Oh yeah, one of my friends did buy GH:Aerosmith though. He's a big fan of the band, so of course, he loves it. Funny how that works, huh? Some people like a game, some people don't?
Oh yeah, and for the record, I'm totally buying GH:Metallica if/when it comes out. That will be awesome. However, just a warning to other people out there who might not be so smart... if you don't like Metallica, you DON'T have to buy the game. Remember that!!!
MakaiOokami @ Aug 11th 2008 4:29PM
Ok asshole the problem is this...
What if I don't want to buy a new game. What if I feel like playing an Aerosmith song, BUT I don't like MOST Aerosmith songs. I want to play a Metallica song BUT i don't like most Metallica songs.
What if I want to play a Metallica song, then an Aerosmith song, then a Dragonforce song, then 2 more Metallica, and 2 more Aerosmith.
THe problem is rather than support an existing title with choices, they give you a black and white choice. Eitehr buy 50-60 tracks, or get none at all.
I've bought tons of DLC for my Rock Band title, and they are ALL going to be compatible when I buy Rock Band 2. If I buy Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Guitar Hero Metallica, and Guitar Hero World Tour, I essentially get unneccesary headache. I don't even get the choice of buying them through the store and having them located on my hard drive I have to switch out cds and in the music genre in this day and age when the competition is doing great work with DLC it's absolutely retarded, and unnacceptable.
That's why I have a problem with it. When you buy a product like this you should be able to get support. They essentially just say "Haha go F urself."
I do regret buying Guitar hero 3. Activision SUCKS in every way they could possibly suck. Wether it's not allowing their controllers to be used on Rock Band, not allowing Rock Band controllers to be used on Guitar Hero, or just whoring off of band's success intead of providing a good amount of support to the games i already have.
The point isn't about buying Metallica and Aerosmith it's about them providing a quality product. Instead of providing you a dynamic quality product they give you a more or less static unchanging product and then package new products rather than providing support for people that already have a product.
There is not a single reason they could not have handled the games better. DLC is the new Revolution, 3 new games a year with no backwards or cross compatibility is both bullshit and rediculous. What if I want to play Metallica on Drums? Sorry can't do it only GH WT is compatible with that Metallica doesn't have compatibility.
The company is absolute bullshit and it's stupid to defend them.

I agree with Makai on this one
Comtar @ Aug 7th 2008 3:26PM
"...and the people at Guitar Hero and Activision are rapidly becoming our best new friends in the world."
Translation: Suitcase full of money.
Waqman @ Aug 7th 2008 4:08PM
Boo Metallica sucks. I'm still pissed off at the whole Napster thing, and also their music isn't even anything to be proud about nowadays.
Ozzy is alright though, but still I'm gettin Rock Band 2.
ChuckJ @ Aug 7th 2008 5:23PM
LOL Metallica sucks? That's pretty funny guy. They suck so bad that they're headlining a GH game, every on of their shows are packed, with exception of an album or two they have put out some great stuff. Sure, knock em for Napster. How long ago was that again? And youre just mad because you dont think they should be upset for people stealing their music. Nice logic moron.
Metallica is one of the best bands ever. Their sales show that as well. Let me guess, when you get RB2, youll be rocking out to Good Charlotte....lol
Webb @ Aug 7th 2008 4:12PM
Guitar Hero Metallica has been confirmed ages ago anyway...

carl @ Aug 7th 2008 5:24PM
It's not officially 'confirmed' by Activision. That's the reason why Lars is just hinting, and not confirming that there will be one.
turkeybaster @ Aug 7th 2008 4:55PM
Yes, Activision. Run this franchise into the ground.
Tann @ Aug 7th 2008 5:43PM
yay, ghwt ftw
can't wait for both these games!
HektikLyfe @ Aug 7th 2008 6:52PM
Ozzy has some great music...but who it the world can sing like him?
Good luck with that.
HektikLyfe @ Aug 7th 2008 6:53PM
IN the world.
tmontana213 @ Aug 8th 2008 5:58PM
I want me some Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets.
haskell420 @ Aug 8th 2008 8:03PM
Get over the effing Napster thing my God. Do you EVEN know WHY that started??? Do you even know the facts at how that started, or the bands that were suing Napster EVEN BEFORE Metallica got on board???Hmm?
For the CLUELESS, they were asked to make a song for the Mission Impossible 2 movie. While they were working on the song "I Disappear",for that movie, Lars, was driving home when the radio station played it. He was like WTF?? He called the radio station, and they said they got the song from Napster. Lars went back to head quarters, and told the rest of the band that he just heard it on the radio and they said they got it on something called Napster. He called their lawyers.
Now considering you don't even remember what he said, or what it was initially about, he said it then, and has said it every day since. He WANTS people to download their songs, he WANTS people to pass it around to their friends. BUT at least let them finish the song first! THAT'S how the Napster crap started. Some moron stole one of the rough copies from the studio, put it on Napster, and thats how it got on the radio. That whole lawsuit where Lars was shown on TV, with a list that showed all the user's who had downloaded I Disappear downloaded to their PC'S.
It wasn't because he wanted to make money off it, or for being greedy. He was ticked that a song they were working on, was now released before they made the final recording of it. So get off the whole "Oh I still hate them cause of Napster BS." And just remember, that Napster WAS ALREADY BEING SUED be other smaller sigers and bands because they weren't making money on it. Metallica got thrown on the face of it because it was Metallica, and cause it was a high profile movie called Mission Impossible 2.
Foos36 @ Aug 17th 2008 4:24PM
Agreed. Leave the music games to people who know music (Harmonix).
I can't wait until RB2 comes out and the song total is 500+ for RB2 to 85-100 for WT. Fuck Neversoft.
