The upcoming SRPG, Disgaea 3 is coming exclusively to PS3 at the end of the month. Retailing for $50, NIS's upcoming sequel features the same over-the-top presentation that franchise veterans should be familiar with. wow, it's 1:53 am when you posted this. Anyway, thanx andrew. I'm lookin forward to this game. I've already played siren to death. This is my next game, and it's coming out soon, yay. Too bad there's no gameplay in this video, but still shows off its charm. You'd think they'd at least use higher resolution textures. this game better not have any framerate issues.

Should I buy the first 2 used before I play this one? The first one is still relatively expensive, I believe. Last time I went into my local Gamestop it was $29.99 used, and I have no clue on the second one.

Price on used games is 'usually' a sign of quality, I suppose.

The third game doesn't feature any real story elements from the first two aside from appearances from a few of the original characters (such as Laharl, Etna, and Flonne). Other than that, this is a completely original story with original characters, so you don't need the original two. I'm expecting this to be the penultimate game in the series, so I'd say just pick this one up first, and if you like it, try the other two. The first one is definitely the preferred one. That isn't to say Disgaea 2 was bad, but Disgaea 1 was much, much better.

First day purchase for me, for sure! Thanks for the $50 price tag, Nippon Ichi!

The first Disgaea is now a greatest hits game so you can get it for $20 bucks now,but if you have a psp it is best to get that version b/c of the extra features.

Are you out of your mind?! If you haven't noticed all RPG fans are really excited about the first real JRPG game on the PS3. I mean the serious lack of RPGs on the PS3 is unbelieveable. The PS3 need more RPGs if it's gonna survive and Disgaea is the perfect game for this. Endless replay value, insane dmg and a hilarious story.^^ Sure RPGs aren't for everyone but don't say "RPGs FTL". The PS3 would sell ton upon ton if we hade more RPG. And we already have enough of alot of the other genres.

God I hope so! That is honestly the best part. I listened to 3 words of Disgaea in English, and went straight to the Japanese. It was hilarious!

its just how people like the game so they continue, and really the textures couldn't have been done on ps2 but still, the lack in graphics is just how the feel of the game works.

they could easily continue it on PS2, tho now that PS3 has dropped it's backward compatibility in current models this could be a problem.

According to the developers, in an article I read a few months ago, while the majority of the graphics could have been done on the PS2, the physics calculations for the majority of the new moves could not have been done. They're really pumped up the backend calculations - since that's really been the core of the Disgaea games from the start. Each game so far has given more and more complex actions and formulas for determining outcomes.
