Alone in the Dark's 'enhanced' PS3 version at Leipzig

Sure, the PS3 version of Alone in the Dark is coming in November, but that's really quite a long time from now. The earliest chance for you to get your grubby hands on the title is this August 21-24 when Games Convention 2008 kicks off in Leipzig, Germany. It'll be the first time for the public to try out the newly "enhanced" PS3 version.

These enhancements, however, can't possibly mean too much considering Atari remains mum on the details. Supposedly, bugs found from the already-released versions of the game (out now on every other major system) should be fixed and "a number of gameplay enhancements" are to be added. In all fairness, perhaps Leipzig will be the time when these new "enhancements" will be fully fleshed out.

They will have a lot of work to do (I think) in order to get anyone to buy this game for full price, that's for sure.

I just rented this from gamefly last week for my 360. Within an hour it was back in the mailbox. Terrible game.

So, because we haven't heard anything about the enhancements they must not amount to much? What kind of logic is that?

The game got awful reviews, so I don't really care what the end product looks like, but come on, be a little less biased. Who knows, maybe they added split screen online multiplayer with trophies, full mods, and user-created levels? (if the game already has any of that, my apologies, but it's beside the point)

You can't say "the updates will suck" in the same article where you admit you have no idea what the updates will be. It's ridiculous.

If you bother to read the comments, no one here says the updates will suck. No one here knows what the updates are. Everyone commenting here is saying that the game was so piss-poor that it is unlikely that any amount of updates will salvage the mess. There's nothing biased about that. See "Lost Planet"...see failure.

The problems with this game are one of those things that should have been fixed provided the publishers gave them more time to work on it, hopefully the developers took all the complaints to heart for this new version.

I usually agree with the things you say, but have you tried the game? I was there when my cousin bought it and I thought it looked pretty good.....before we played it.

The phsyics are retarded. Example? You let go of an object (something like a fire extinguisher) and it *floats* of before landing.

In one part, when I was on the side of the building, the top of the building was falling down...but it didint affect me. In one point, the was a slow motion bit where I ran through fire and another bit where *the crack* was on fire and grabbed me. We are talking death grab here, where half your body is taken underground, yet I was able to walk away from it.

We returned it after two hours of searching a room for an undicated medicine spray.

I hope noone was insulted or hurt by my LONG comment, but remember, it's MY opinion. I dont want to continue ranting, but I just want to say one last thing....the story line was utterly amazing and original.

If they can fix the bugs and enhance the game. The game that was panned could get some half way descent reviews. The same reviewers that gave it low scores also said that the game had some good ideas which made it all the more disapointing by bugs and some flaws in game design. I can see renting this game.
