More Warhawk v1.5 update details
Over at PlayStation.Blog, the game director of Warhawk, Dylan Jobe, lets us in on the details surrounding the important v1.5 update which will bring trophies. Last week, we already provided you with a list of trophies and a release date of August 27th for Europe -- it now appears the date will apply to the US as well. Other updates will include:
- Custom in-game music confirmed once again.
- Training tutorials -- 4 offline tutorials for "newbies" to the game, focusing "on the core principals of each of the 3 modes of gameplay: Infantry, Ground Vehicles and Aircraft." The fourth tutorial, Flight Practice, will have players destroying as many attack drones as possible in 3 minutes. Completing these tutorials will result in a trophy.
- Clan leaders will now have the ability to retract a clan invite.
- 20 new paint schemes and 50 new insignias.
- Participants of the GGL tournament will receive a in-game GGL-Ceremonial Knife. The winners of the tournament will receive a Champion's Blade.
- Green servers will be designated for rookies only.
- Jobe hints at a jetpack for the next Booster Pack with a promise of more information to come at Leipzig.
- Some exploits and issues were fixed. Read Jobe's post for more details.

rafael @ Aug 11th 2008 5:46PM
jetpack?
WTF
Popfrogs @ Aug 11th 2008 7:08PM
Jetpack will be awesome. Finally you can cover ground without finding a tank/jeep, get to high places, and bail out if your Warhawk is doomed.
Erazer @ Aug 11th 2008 5:51PM
Wow is all I can say. To date I would say they have had some really good DLC.
j.howlett @ Aug 11th 2008 5:51PM
the training just moved warhawk neck to neck with uncharted as my next game
-Jad- @ Aug 11th 2008 5:52PM
in-game music!!! That's a buy for me and the trophies too.
realityzero @ Aug 11th 2008 5:54PM
This might just get me playing warhawk again!
Custom music and trophy support hooorah!
Michael @ Aug 11th 2008 5:59PM
Are the trophies retroactive?
frankym @ Aug 11th 2008 6:05PM
Some are...like the ones for achieving a certain rank. Most are not since you need to achieve stats that are currently not tracked.
jae29one @ Aug 11th 2008 6:16PM
Hopefully they fix the damn mic issues and a couple of other things.. Other than that like always it looks like a good update.. Cant wait to check out that jetpack thing..
Popfrogs @ Aug 11th 2008 7:09PM
I'm starting to think the mic issue is 2.41's fault. BFBC and other games freak out also.
DrunkRaba @ Aug 11th 2008 6:39PM
Awesome that they will be adding the ability to "bail out" too, love this game and these developers!
Unabanzie @ Aug 11th 2008 6:59PM
awesome. my insignia and plane designs seem to have both got into the update. am chuffed!
black_ryuk @ Aug 11th 2008 7:15PM
Jetpacks.....wonder if we wll be able to bail out of warhawks and use them....
massive_98 @ Aug 11th 2008 7:35PM
They way they update content is almost like theres an annual fee for this game, but there isn't. I think the game industry has finally realized that adding new things not only keeps current owners happy but lures in new purchases.
I just bought Burnout Paradise the other day because of all the new content and hopefully more thats coming.
MakaiOokami @ Aug 12th 2008 12:33AM
That's why I'm buying RockBand 2 for the next year's worth of Music Genre rather than buying Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero Metallica, Guitar hero Aerosmith etc....
Not only do I not like those bands, but I like a very few select songs of theirs, and I would like to be able to get updates on a regular basis rather than get a brand new game every 2 or 3 months.
Pretty soon companies are going to have to gain sales by not only making a great game, but great support...
The biggest problem now is that reviews are static and pretty much worthless now. Take Lair as an example. They fixed a lot of the control and even provided Remote Play... does that make it a good game? Not sure... I haven't seen any updated reviews. Maybe it's worth a buy now, maybe it's not. Some games get reviewed at 60 dollars but are easily worth the money now that they dropped to 30 dollars. The problem is that while videogames are evolving, Reviews now more than ever have the ability to hurt games overall.
It really sucks.
Kyuba08 @ Aug 11th 2008 8:39PM
Very cool.
elephant_stone @ Aug 11th 2008 8:43PM
I WON!! :)
Top row, third from the left - the Slime moster!
I too didnt think I would win...I made it in like, 5 mins
I shall wear it with pride from the 27th Aug on my ship and my uniform!
I just cant wait to play with this: http://www.community-team.com/~lestrade//warhawk/whdesigncontest_statue.jpg

i have not got it yet, but i will get it soon warhawk is now on platinum i to cant wait for the 1.50 update, will the patch gives us parachutes when we bail out and will we able to fire our weapons while we drop because the other team will shoot @ the parachutes that will be cool the jetpacks will be good to, i be buying DLC content as well see you all online :)
Nathan @ Aug 12th 2008 8:23AM
If you look at those trophies, you will see that those are the current booster packs, except for the last one, which has a new symbol and the trophy is a splattered fly...
that corresponds to the trophy
That Was Some Bug (Gold)-Kill an enemy who is flying a jetpack by hitting him with any vehicle or aircraft.
But, I could be wrong
Brandon @ Aug 13th 2008 2:08AM
In-game music won't be that big of a deal. After you turn a corner and for the fifth time get blown up by a mine you could've heard and avoided, you'll learn you don't need it.
ali_D @ Aug 13th 2008 2:58PM
im back to say SORRY in my last post i said warhawk is out now on platinum it is NOT, i ask the shop when they say not soon, its out or soon be out in usa on greatest hits btw we may be in for a shock in lipzig game-summit.
rod @ Aug 22nd 2008 2:33PM
