DJ Max is coming to America with a Fever
Wait, what's that in the mail? Our very own copy of DJ Max Fever? ZOMG! The incredibly popular Korean music game is finally coming Stateside. The gameplay should be familiar to those that have played a Beatmania game: you must press buttons that correspond with falling notes. However, DJ Max is known for its notorious difficulty. Beware!
DJ Max Fever is a mix of the two DJ Max Portable games released in Asia so far. With over 100 songs, five difficulty levels, Network Battle Mode, and an unlockable gallery of music videos, soundtracks and images, this looks like a winning addition to the PSP library. Even more surprising, it's coming out soon: November 11th.

FINALLY!! I was about to import it, but no reason to now. Comes out 6 days before my B-Day, so I will have something to get.
Jacksons @ Aug 12th 2008 8:33PM
That game footage was frighteningly fast!
Fiefdom @ Aug 12th 2008 8:47PM
I already own both of the released versions because I never expected a North American release to actually materialize. T_T I lvoe the games though, so I'll probably get this one anyways.
fire207 @ Aug 12th 2008 8:50PM
rofl december 2005. I cant wait!
Fiefdom @ Aug 12th 2008 10:35PM
What's shown is the trailer for the first DJ Max Portable in Korea. I was also confused by the video but a quick search reveals that there are multiple recent articles suggesting a North American release. Presumably the trailer for the first PSP version of the game was put up as an example representation because there isn't a trailer for the North American version of which I am aware.
fire207 @ Aug 13th 2008 1:14AM
oh, ya i know :D i loved the first game. I just thought it was funny to use the first game trailer and how it was old. Thanks for explaining though.
Danny @ Aug 12th 2008 9:09PM

lorddshadow @ Aug 12th 2008 9:49PM

gurbinder @ Aug 12th 2008 9:57PM

Erik Stroud @ Aug 12th 2008 10:40PM

LAZoftheTamarinds @ Aug 12th 2008 10:09PM
Man I'm looking forward to this even though I couldn't beat the demo! XD
Jeremy @ Aug 12th 2008 11:07PM
I tried the demo to one of the Korean versions (don't remember). Eeek. Much too hard for me.
NukeAssault @ Aug 12th 2008 11:51PM
Awesome, i remember playing the demo wayyyyy back when. Difficult at first but i got pretty good. Never bought it but now i will! =D
Tim N @ Aug 12th 2008 11:56PM
Wait, so that video isn't for said NA release game? Will the game thats being released here keep the K-pop in it?
Ky @ Aug 13th 2008 2:46AM
Most likely. As far as I know, all the music featured in DJM are first-party stuff -- no licensed music -- so Pentavision is welcome to do whatever they please with their own material.
rikki @ Aug 13th 2008 6:48AM
Ky may be right, but since I'm a pessimist:
Since this game is a mix of DJ Max 1 & 2, my guess is that they'll cherry-pick the songs which aren't in Korean. We'll get all the Engrish ones and some instrumentals.
Siliconera has some horrible might-be-boxart supposedly taken from the sales data worksheet. Hopefully, it's temporary or fake.

Phil @ Aug 17th 2008 8:24PM
Oh sweet christ do not let that be the official box art.
And I don't see a reason why Pentavision would get rid of a bunch of the korean ones... But then again, the only non-english song I enjoy is that one with that 'cat girl' or whatever she is from DJMAX 1.
Outlaw HAS to be included, I will strangle the developers of the game if we do not get Outlaw...
And if we don't get Ray of Illuminati...
And... Well, the list would be extensive. ^_^;;
loic54 @ Aug 13th 2008 1:42AM
Finally, this is probably the best game for the PSP. Even though I own both DJ max 1 and 2, I'm still buying it.
disguy @ Aug 13th 2008 1:56AM
Yessssss!!! THANK YOU to whoever is bringing this over. Even though one didn't need to really understand Korean to enjoy the game, it was still frustrating when unlocking something and not understanding what the hell they said all the time.
Timothy Weaver @ Aug 13th 2008 2:07AM
This game was mad difficult when I tried it. I like the idea of it though. props for coming to america.
John S @ Aug 13th 2008 2:18AM
I've had DJMP1 for probably over a year and a half, and I'm only at 54.6%. Been playing off and on over the time. Some of the advanced songs are really insanely difficult.
Andy @ Aug 13th 2008 8:23AM
FUCK YEAH!! I'll buy this game even tho I've already imported both of the International versions of the game... Just to say "hell yeah" for bringing the game stateside.
Kia @ Aug 13th 2008 3:47AM
What the hell? Out of all the PSP games that should get brought over, we get DJ Max? -Seriously-?
strike @ Aug 13th 2008 7:10AM
DJmax is a brilliant game and it should be easy to translate...
Sounds to me like someone couldn't beat the demo =)
I hope they keep most of those k-pop songs, I loved them :D
GoBob @ Aug 13th 2008 8:59AM
Only took three years. The original DJ Max games even had an English setup.
Rapsody @ Aug 13th 2008 10:04AM
Damn, I really can't wait for that.
I played the demo and it really wasn't that hard. If I had the actual game though, I'd be a master at it. I'm reserving this now.
safeguard @ Aug 15th 2008 9:02AM
LOL its comming out on my B-Day as well nice nice nice I just love this game beats any DDR and shit :)
Angel @ Aug 16th 2008 3:09AM
DDR and Guitar Hero for the PSP!
calvin @ Aug 17th 2008 3:03PM
what the hell, and i imported dj max portable 2 too :( oh well. i guess i'd rather have both versions than a fusion of two.
Kyuba08 @ Aug 18th 2008 11:19AM
Pre-order! Pre-order! Pre-order!
Even though DJ Max Portable 2 is super-tough, the game is fun. I have GOT to get this.
eric lau @ Nov 4th 2008 10:16AM
wait this is coming out on november 11 2008? O.o
the COMING tuesday ? :D
