Bionic Commando will have PSN exclusive challenge room
Ben Judd, a producer of Bionic Commando: Rearmed, has revealed to PlayStation.Blog the nature of the "VERY cool surprise" Capcom mentioned early last month for the PSN version of the game. It seems to be "an exclusive challenge room" that will "make for bragging rights" due to the difficult nature of the stage.
The post also unveils another medal, called Faster than a Speeding Bullet. To achieve this medal, the player must block 100 projectiles using the Bionic Arm. Like the last medal revealed, these medals seem to correspond to this list of Achievements. Most likely, when the game is patched with Trophies, that list won't look too different. Finally, Capcom mentions that Street Fighter Alpha will also be available today on the PSN. For those of you who felt that this wasn't the Street Fighter surprise you were hoping for, there might be something else planned for us. "Some of you may be asking, 'Come on John D, was that's it?' Um, if I say more, the PR team will kick my a$$, so I'll leave it as a definitely, maybe." What could this mean? Oh, Capcom! You are such a tease!

Maybe an exclusive Street Fighter 4 character for PS3?
DeforMAKulizer @ Aug 14th 2008 12:29PM
They previously said that there wont be any console exclusive SF IV characters like Soulcalibur.... But teasing us with a new announcement is cool!!! But i hope its something worth it =D Capcom really loves Sony!
Lars @ Aug 14th 2008 2:19PM
No, you're thinking of Activision.

Are you kidding? Eden is addictive as hell.

Jesus Christ...this game just gets more and more tantalizing.
I think its safe to assume that the trophies will be identical to the "medals", since the medals are identical to the achievements. That said...why are there no trophies right now? And will they be retroactive?
I think the biggest concern is, WHEN are trophies coming? It sure would be good to know...you know, because its total bull that they aren't in it now (because achievements are, and thats crap).
Lars @ Aug 14th 2008 2:24PM
It's annoying that it's not launching with Trophies. Hopefully they'll patch it soon (like within the month). I'm sure they won't be retroactive though since I believe the stats would have to be tied to your PSN name in order to prevent cheating by just copying someone's save file.
Daniel @ Aug 14th 2008 2:30PM
On the PSblog, they said they were making them retroactive. I believe it was in the topic where he was answering almost every single post.
Adam @ Aug 14th 2008 2:34PM
There's no reason why the addition of medals can't be retroactive or tied to PSN. Afterall, thats what the "Game Data" file is for, as opposed to a "Game Save" file. Also, some games have data files and save files, for example: Portal and Ratchet and Clank. So who knows. I for one hope they're retroactive, because I know I'm going to be hunting down those medals viciously since I've been waiting for this game ever since it was announced. My mouth salivates at the thought of going home after work tonight to download this.
Devin @ Aug 14th 2008 1:18PM
Ok, what's your idea of "fun"?
reson8er @ Aug 14th 2008 1:26PM
EDEN is awesome, don't be a h8er.
matt @ Aug 14th 2008 2:07PM
I googled it to no avail, so, anyone know when this gets released in Europe?
ftrunks2k @ Aug 14th 2008 2:41PM
I gave up on EU Release, So after all that Entropay business I heard I thought to myself, If they don't release BC this week, I'm creating myself an Entropay card! F*** Y** Capcom/SCEE!
Popfrogs @ Aug 14th 2008 4:21PM
I brought the cheese, Euros bring the whine. Don't worry higher-dollar-value folks, Capcom will bring it to you over there after it jumps through 1,184 legal processes and gets translated into a dozen languages.
Lars @ Aug 14th 2008 2:21PM
Seems like people who don't like artsy-fartsy games would love BCR though, right?
I played the demo yesterday, it was freakin' awesome! It's a must buy for anyone who loved the original.
