Resistance 2 beta invites out for PSU members

If you're a member of the PlayStation Underground, you might have been selected to join an early private beta for Resistance 2, which -- as we've been told -- many lucky gamers have already downloaded and are currently playing. However, this doesn't mean that everyone who had plans to join the beta can get in at this time.

If your golden ticket is through Qore, you won't be able to join the fight. It looks like you'll still have to wait for the scheduled "late September" date which is for the open beta. In the meantime, you can distract yourself with this new Resistance 2 site. Just don't click on "Beta Info" -- it'll just remind you that you can't get in.

What the hell. I've been a member of the PSU since it was first founded and I have been passed over for both Home and Resistance 2? Not like they can tell from my PSU account, but I've been rabidly involved in the ARG.

I've been a GAP member since it was formed and a PSU member for just as long. I bought a PS3 at launch and picked up a copy of Resistance with it, which I played rabidly. I've been following the ARG religiously and have expressed interest in beta testing the game multiple times. I've had a history in beta testing, yet I've been skipped in every single Sony beta ever yet tons of people who barely even play their systems get a random invite.

What the hell kind of system do they use to choose who gets in?

Man. I was a GAP member a while back in 2006 and then I didn't get any emails from them. I didn't see any in my spam box either. Now I finally get back on to the site and fixed everything (I had a really old Yahoo account for it). I wonder if I can get into the beta now? *Please say yes!*

Yeap, this stupid "random" choosing is really getting old. People who are dedicated to gaming, know how to analyze and critique then report and people who are really active are always passed over. Hell Iv been with Sony since the PS1 days and been a PSU member since 2005 yet I havent gotten into a single beta, was never invited to GAP and never get recognized for my dedication to Sony.

Hey, nice to see the Insomniac guys following the posts (and replying).

Personally I think that the random selection is the best idea anyway. If you only choose hardcore gamers you are not getting a true flavour of your demographic. You NEED the casual gamer to try these things out as he/she will give you a different perspective to the guys who spend every day on their system!

bin a PSU memeber since 2005. Purchased a PSP on release day. Bought a PS3 on release day, bought resistance on day one. On my ps3 every day for atleast 1 hour. and no invites to anything, thanks sony :) Random invites need to STOP.

Wrong. I'm not complaining about others getting in. Good for them. It could be open beta. I don't care. The point is why just decide to skip someone who you have invited to every other beta.

To all those complaining about not being selected, Insomniac know who are the top contributors to their forums and community, and probably chose the testers from that selection.

The are some hardcore Insomniac commuinty member that deserve to get in first.

I personally, will just wait for the demo.

As for those GAP members complaining, SCEA makes sure you're in one beta at a time from the first party games perspective on the "closed beta" front. So if you're in Home, no R2 Closed beta for you.

In 2 weeks if you preordered you'll be in anyway with the ability to get your $$ back from GameStop, whereas the Qore suckers just pissed away their couple of bucks.

Ya sure.... All PS3 games are region free... Only Bluray movies are locked according to regions... Same thing with PSP

You guys should be happy Insomniac puts out quality products every year instead of listing your credentials and crying about not being in the beta. I preordered this game already so if somehow I get the beta I would be happy but if not I will enjoy playing something fresh in November.

Oh, come on. I would rather wait for the full game to come out with all the online bugs resolved. I can wait. Not been that impressed so far with the vid footage, but I hope the online play is better than what it was for Resistance.

My onlt REAL beaf with Resistance was lack of colour. Made the environments seem flat and not really 3D. I understand it was war, but a little colour in Resistance 2 I hope will emerge. And not just the glowing yellow eyer Chimera.

Here's hoping.

looking at everyone list their dates made me check mine. this time, because i've been a PSU member a couple times since the first playstation, i've been a GAP and PSU member since 2004. i use to get into betas for ps2 and i was surprised by the mgo beta. it would have been nice to get in the R2 beta. i'll just go back to building rank in r:fom i guess
