Thief says PS3 needed to stop hostage situation

There are stories about stolen PS3s ... and then there's this story. A man who stole a PS3 system from a St. Louis EB Games store at gunpoint told the clerk that he needed the system to "save his family." According to KSDK, the theif told the clerk that "his family was being held hostage" and only the PS3 would save them.

The police arrived shortly after the incident, but the thief had already vanished. Was he a real victim of a hostage situation -- or was he a thief that just wanted to tell an interesting story? Until the police find him, we'll never really know.

No cause unfortunately that means that the PS3 is the reason for the hostage situation and 2 cases of gun threats T_T I don't want any blood on the PS3's hands... That's the 360s job... to ruin lives.

So the hostage takers demanded a PS3 and I'm assuming let one guy go out to bring it, but unfortunately he had no money and had to resort to robbing the store to save the lives of his family, what a brave soul, I smell a movie deal!

Stealing is always easier... but it's wrong.

Let's say you have no morals, then the question is: is it worth the risk? If I was gonna steal something, I wouldn't steal a $400 product. $400 isn't worth going to jail over. I'd at least steal all the money in the registers and then I could buy a PS3 and have money to spare.

the Sony Defense Force went into his house and asked them what systems they owned. They said that they had a Wii and a 360 and all hell broke loose. I question their methods but it will get more ps3's in US homes.
