Valkyria Chronicles officially dated for Nov. 11
SEGA has quite an original, complex, and deep gaming experience with Valkyria Chronicles. If you've read through our hands-on from E3, you probably don't need us to remind you of that. However, when will our fellow North Americans get the chance to play it? The answer to that is: soon, or, November 11 to be exact.
In addition to a release date, Siliconera has spoken with associate producer Christopher Kaminski for some further info on the North American version. The DLC from the original Japanese game won't be on the NA disc; however, that DLC hasn't been denied for future downloads either. For those who like Japanese voice acting, you'll be happy to know that a Japanese audio option is included. With Valkyria Chronicles out this November and Disgaea 3 out later this month, it looks like S-RPG fans will have their hands full this fall.

Nice to know the date. I'm really looking forward to this game. It's so different from most J-RPGs, but in a good way.
Also, I love the art style, looks beautiful :D

I'll be playing Gears 2, Resistance 2, and LBP in November.
I'll just get this in December.

Perfect purchase for Remembrance Day! Wear those poppies!

the inclusion of the Japanese voice option has absolutely sealed the deal on this game for me

Yes but Amazon did seem to already give us the date if I recall. Ultimately though, I cant wait for this. Disgaea will take me up until the release of Eternal Sonata (on Nov 4), and then with one week to beat Eternal Sonata I can get Valkyria Chronicles (Nov 11), then rush to get Sonic Unleashed(Nov 18). Gosh this is gonna be tight.
Der-Held @ Aug 15th 2008 12:52AM
YES finally !!! i have this game on pre-order for about 6 month now ...im glad to know the wait will be over soon.

this game looks bad, however everyone else seems excited. I'm sure that you would understand why I feel as such, considering Sega has been a major letdown this year. Anyways should I research and get excited as well?
Gambit07 @ Aug 15th 2008 11:15AM
Dude I totally understand you, Sega has been going downhill for a while now, but trust me this is their best game in years, I've seen some high scores for the japanese version already. This will be one of those under appreciated classics in a few years time.
dip @ Aug 15th 2008 11:13AM
And what exactly *looks* bad about it, if you don't mind me asking? Unless you were speaking figuratively in which case, yes, you should do some research before you base a game's quality solely on who is publishing it. IMO this game looks to be very well done and everyone who has been able to get their hands on the Japanese version had nothing but good things to say about it.
Sorry, but that was an incredibly stupid comment...
ryan @ Aug 16th 2008 11:51AM
basing how a game looks because of it's publisher name?
that's like me saying if Konami had a decline in quality games that makes MGS4 automatically "look bad".
yeah, your comment sucks dude.
time-space @ Aug 16th 2008 11:12PM
dip and ryan... if this game pulls a sonic the hedgehog...well I guess I'll be in the clear and you in the wrong. Thanks for being so cool about it. DUDE!!!!
McBonk @ Aug 15th 2008 6:42AM
Neither this title nor Disgaea 3 appear to have sold well in Japan. What gives?
ultima_omega @ Aug 15th 2008 6:42AM
When is Europe getting this, i have seen it down for September but it is unlikley we will get it first. I will be importing this.
Eric E @ Aug 15th 2008 9:20AM
Eternal Sonata will be coming out a few weeks earlier, don't know which to play first cause i've never gotten into SRPGs.
But i'll also be busy with BioShock, LBP, Chrono Trigger and Castlevania(DS).
Im also still playing Eden, Siren, MGS4, GTA4. and my new psp and back catalog...
Forget low on cash, im low on time.
kentuckyfried @ Aug 15th 2008 9:13PM
It's not the money that bothers me, I agree...I simply don't have the time to play all this good stuff!!
