Yes, there will be more Ratchet & Clank in Fall 2009
So, what happens after you beat the 3-4 hours of adventuring to be found in the upcoming Quest for Booty? Well, you'll get a tease for yet another Ratchet & Clank adventure in Fall 2009! The series looks to be turning into an annual affair -- but will it be yet another small taste of R&C, or will it be a full-length feature, a la Tools of Destruction?
Stay tuned for our full review of Quest for Booty next week.

I really excited for this game!!!!! Insomniac rule!!! I mean for heaven's sake, they are still working on Resistance 2 and they already tease Ratchet and Clank =D

It will definitely be a full-length retail game. I'd like to see Sly and Jak again, sometime.

I'm probably the biggest platformer fanboy I know but I just don't get the appeal of this series. So I beat the first one when it came out all those years ago, then I started playing the second one... and it was the same shit again. Then I played the third briefly at a friend's house... wow, SAME EXACT GAMEPLAY, just new guns. Then I played the demo for the new one on my PS3... same shit... yet again. Yet people nut themselves over every new Ratchet and Clank game.
At least the Jak series evolved significantly with each new incarnation, incorporating new and different gameplay modes within the actual context of the game--as opposed to minigames or special areas or whatever.

i agree, although well made, i feel you play one Ratchet game you played em all. Jak on the other hand felt different with every game. i look forward to a new Jak game.

I can appreciate your point of view. And honestly, I've only played Up Your Arsenal and Tools of Destruction, but I really enjoyed both games. I would personally like more platforming and more exploration, not just action-action-action. As well as more side-quests, kind of like hunting those big flying worm monsters in Tools, but not something so repetitive.
But still, I think the games are well-made fun. I'd rather play through tools of destruction again than about 70% of the other games I've played. But I definitely need more innovation.
What exactly would you like to see?

Quest for Booty is getting average reviews. So far IGN and 1 up gave it 7.0. Think I'll pass on this as a result.

Quest for Booty is getting average reviews so I will pass on this title.
ThisGuy @ Aug 15th 2008 6:04PM
it has like two reviews. wtf?
ryan @ Aug 15th 2008 6:45PM
eh, 1up claims they beat the game in 2 hours or so. that doesn't create a very positive impression for an expansion costing $15.
frankym @ Aug 15th 2008 6:46PM
Yeah, from IGN and 1up, two of the top gaming sites. How many do you really need?
Polkster @ Aug 15th 2008 7:05PM
I can't laundry list it but give the Jak series a try, you'll see the obvious progression between 1, 2, and 3. Each game is excellent, but each also brings something different to the table.

Insomniac really loves milking their franchises. I can't wait to play Resistance 5!!
ClouDbOy @ Aug 15th 2008 7:34PM
I can't wait for Quest for Booty. 5 days and counting. xD

Hmm..
Jak II = GTA Ripoff, so horrible IMHO.
Even if the R&C gameplay is always nearly the same, It's always a great and fun gaming experience :p
iamkid @ Aug 15th 2008 8:51PM
i must get this game. now. is it gonna have challenge mode and stuff like the others?
Arnon @ Aug 17th 2008 1:48AM
Please tell me it's not a continuation of QfB.. because if it is, then I completely see it as a gimmick. I hated things like how I had to shelve out like $200 for 4 .Hack games when it could have been all of 1 game.
