Q: I'm thinking about getting a PS3 and I heard that you can put a PS1 disc in the PS3, then use Remote Play to play the PS1 game on your PSP. Is this true?
A: It sure is! Once you've paired your PSP and PS3, any PSone disc inserted into the PS3 can be played remotely on the handheld. This functionality was introduced with firmware 2.10 (PS3) and firmware 3.80 (PSP).
Q: Any updates on the keyboard? I think this will be an awesome addition as long as the add is clean and acts as a screen cover when closed.
A: We haven't heard much since the announcement back at CES, but we're confident Sony will release the peripheral sometime next year. As far as the design? Your guess is as good as mine.
Q: The Nintendo DS has titles like Ouendan and Jump, which are must own import games. I'm picking up a PSP sometime this week, and I wanted to know if the PSP has any must have import titles?
A: Bleach's Heat the Soul series keeps on getting better and is always an import favorite. Other than that, we usually tell people to pick up DJ Max Portable ... but a US release just got announced!
Q: Are there any MMORPG games for the PSP? Like WoW, that you can use via the Wi-Fi link?
A: Unfortunately, many developers overlook the PSP when looking to produce a true MMORPG. If you're willing to brush up on your Japanese, you may want to look into Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G or the just-released Phantasy Star Portable. However, those games are still limited to Ad-Hoc play only. The upcoming Final Fantasy XIII game should change all of that, though.
Q: Is there gonna be a FIFA 2009 PSP demo?
A: We haven't heard anything from EA Sports just yet, but we'll certainly report any information that comes our way. We're betting it's unlikely.

I'm having a hard time understanding the point of playing PS1 games via remote play. Since you need to be near the PS3 to play the PS1 game anyway, why not just play the PS1 game on your PS3?
Though it would be nice to play Final Fantasy VII (or Chrono Trigger, or anything, really) on the toilet, that's pretty much the only reason for this.
Or am I completely missing something about remote play?

To answer both of your questions.
1. When playing using remote play, you DO listen through the PSP. There is also an option to switch audio so you can listen to music through say surround sound speakers while using your PSP and having your PS3 turned off.
2. You can have your PS3 off and still activate remote play. If you have a PSN account logged onto your PS3, you can set up Remote Start. Basically, if you have your PS3 on standby (red light on), and you make it so that your profile automatically signs onto PSN when you turn on your PS3, you can use Remote Start on your PSP, log onto your PSN account and turn on your PS3 from wherever you are in the world. Once you are done using the PS3 while out in public, there is an option to quit Remote Play and turn off the system or leave it on.

But how would that work? Would you have to leave your PS3 on and online constantly so you could play while out of the house?
That's kind of cool, actually, but what about people like me who like to turn everything in their house off when they leave because it saves money and helps you pretend to care about the environment?

The PS3 has wake-on-wifi/lan.
So...it does need to be plugged in and drawing a minimum amount of power but does not have to be 'left on' as you'd mean it. The PSP can turn on and shut off the PS3 remotely.
You can user Remote Play within your home wifi spot without using the internet for the connection. BUT, you can also use Remote Play from any wifi spot in the world that gives you access.
Another 'neat' trick is, if you leave you computer ON or can wake it by lan by another means is that you can stream your PC music/photo/video library through the PS3 to your PSP anywhere you have wifi. As an example, I was on vacation recently and wanted to show family and friends some home videos. I fired up the PSP and PS3 and streamed them from my home computer (which IS always on) to my PSP.

i dont mean to be rude aj but im guessing u dont have a ps3? or maybe even a psp? if u have both then u would know that u can change the settings to turn on your ps3 via your psp from any wi-fi network. essentialy, having the ps3 xmb screen on your psp. you can also shut off your ps3 the same way as well. so just imagine if you're in africa, u can still access your ps3 from your psp and still be able to turn it off.

That's not rude, really, I actually don't have a PS3. I'm only asking about all this stuff because I only recently bought a PSP, and I am both really impressed with it and really, really pissed off at it, and I want to know exactly what a PS3 does, and how it works, before I even think about thinking about getting one.
(I'm pissed off because of all the reliance on WiFi. I refuse to get WiFi in my home because I don't need or want it. I have wires. I don't need to spend an extra 100 to 200 dollars for something that I don't need or want that does the exact same thing that my 5$ wires and free modem does for me already. And if the PS3 requires that in addition to the cost of the thing itself I need to go buy some other expensive thing, then it makes me want to punch someone who works at Sony. But damn, if that wireless PS1 thing doesn't sound cool. I dream of playing Final Fantasy VII on my PSP while I'm out and about, or waiting on an appointment, or just killing time between gigs.)
tl;dr - I love my PSP, but why do I have to pay more money to use something I've already bought and paid for? Next time, I'm doing much, much, much more thorough research before buying a console.

lol ur too funny....when ur at home and u use remote play, ur just using the built in wifi on your ps3...so u dont have to worry about scanning for one but as big as a game guru that i am, i actually didnt know about the remote play on all ps1 games. it sure will come in handy when my girlfriend is watching tv lol.

@aj You can plug a PS3 in via normal ethernet cable. I have Wifi and still use a cable. Remote play with PSP also doesn't require a wireless router. It connects (locally at least) directly to the PS3.

this might be a little of topic, but this seems like a good place to ask. Does any one here have a blue madden psp? If anyone does, is it really darker than in the pictures, and was it a good package? I really want another psp (my mother lost it when she was holding it in her pocketbook when i went on a water ride in Universal), and now that all these cool psp packs have come out, i want to make the right decision.

This Q&A system sure helps a lot, but I thought there was supposed be more than 5 questions, but I guess I was wrong.
I'm not entirely sure of this because I don't have one of my own, but I think the blue madden psp is darker than the ones in the pictures, but it seems when theres a lot of light around or pictures are taken with flashes it seems a lot lighter.
I think you should compare how light you think the actual psp is with the blue psp in this picture (it might help):-

hey guys please help me. I'm a n00b
i was trying to install a flash theme using an article on www.pspwiki.com and by mistake, i cut the files in flash0 and while i was copying them back to flash0, my USB got disconnected and when i tried to start my psp, nothing came on even when i held R trigger. please tell me how to access flash0 and put the files back.
