Check out Joystiq's Heavy Rain eyes-on impressions
What happens when you get an opportunity to go eye-to-eye with Heavy Rain? Wet, mostly. But you also get spooked, shaken, and shocked (thought not necessarily in that order). Joystiq experienced it all at the Leipzig Games Convention, when they were given a demonstration of the game by developers Quantic Dream. If you've seen the teaser trailer from Sony's Press Conference, then you were probably as intrigued as we were. From what Joystiq is saying, we ain't seen nothing yet.
If Quantic Dream want to build hype for this game, they should release a walkthrough video of this creepy bonus level, pronto. We knew there was a reason Playboy named it their E3 Game Of The Show. Check out the full eyes-on piece over at Joystiq.

"From what Joystiq is saying, we ain't seen nothing yet."
So what you're trying to say is... we HAVE seen SOMETHING yet?...
:P

Its good to finally hear something about how the game will play. This game is gonna be sweet.
Simstim @ Aug 21st 2008 10:21PM
it looks great and very ambitious, hopefully Quantic Dream delivers on it

now that i know the game is not ON RAILS i'm more excited for it. i was just afraid that we wouldn't even be able to walk around. people made it seem like the game was on a set track, like Time Crisis, and pressing the trigger would propel you down the track.

WHAT ARE GOOD GAME MAGIZINE PUBLISHERS

I think I saw something, but have I seen IT yet? I'm so confused... Somebody please tell me what I should think :)

I am very intrigued by this game. You should see some of the comments the 360 people made for this game on IGN. They were pretty pathetic.
Anyhow, it looks very unique and I can't wait to play it.

A video walktrough would be a great idea. People who are too damn lazy to actually read about the game just see the first trailer and just write it off as an on-rails QTE-fest.
leiwei @ Aug 22nd 2008 1:26AM
Reading some of these comments now and ones from other forums, I'm starting to think people really don't read articles at all. It's like they just read the headlines. Worse, they probably just look at the damn video and criticize it for what they've seen.
"OMGWTFBBQ! Heavy Rain sucks! Adventure game on rails! It's like Dragon's Lair and the QTE blows! "
*sigh*

I think we all know the _real_ reason why Playboy named it their E3 Game of the Show ...

Indigo Prophecy had a lot of controllable third person parts to it. Only certain sequences were on rails.
hitori @ Aug 22nd 2008 4:50AM
Wow! I can't wait to play. But I guess I'll have to. A demo sometime soon would be awesome.
streetball4life @ Aug 22nd 2008 4:07PM
Wow!!! Im so glad that this is a PS3 exclusive. I can totally forget about the whole Final Fantasy multiplatform thing. Cuz n my opinion this game will be better. Maybe not as deep or as long as Final Fantasy but better in the sense of it being a truly unique and different game. This game looks amazing and i can feel the tension and emotion just from that short video. Imagine actually playing it yourself. Heavy Rain and LBP are going to change the way we play games. The PS3 is finally starting to show off its power. Cant wait for this!!
