Come see Trophies unlocked in LittleBigPlanet

It's been known for some time now that LittleBigPlanet will have Trophies, but we haven't actually seen them yet ... well, until now that is. The video after the cut witnesses the reluctant unlocking of four Bronze Trophies and a Silver one during a gameplay demonstration at Leipzig. For all the unduly converted Trophy junkies out there, these Trophies are titled: Forager, Sticky Fingers, Treasure Hunter, 2x Multiplier, and Booty Master (this is the silver one).
Personally, Booty Master takes the trophy naming prize for us. Is there a Trophy we can give to a Trophy? Anyway, knowing that the game is due out by the end of October, this little bit of info comes as a pleasant early taste of a fresh new accolade hunt that's soon to come. Check out the video, after the cut.

5 trophies at once ?
Boye @ Aug 21st 2008 11:50AM
You have got to understand that they have probably played the game over on the system. I highly doubt that was the first run of the time.
WhiteSpy @ Aug 21st 2008 10:49AM
These trophies looks really easy to earn. Aside from the great graphics and cool sackboys, is there much gameplay in LBP? I realize it has a level editor and I can share my creations, but the game play looks so easy I wonder if it will be fun after a few hours. Where is the challenge? Every level they show is basically sackboy jumping over stuff and running to the end, will there be any levels that are actually challenging, or do you just keep hitting jump button till you get over the obstacles? BTW, I will have this day 1, not bashing, just curious.
justinb @ Aug 21st 2008 11:02AM
The way I see it, compair this game to mario, what did you do?
You jumped over things and you jumped on monsters to kill them.
Personally Mario is probably one of the best games out there I can play it for days and it never gets old, I can not play it for a year come back and someone invites to play I couldn't say no its a classic fun easy game to play, with its own challenges.
I feel LBP will take Mario games as we know it to the next level, adding more challenges then ever thought of then adding the opertunity for people to make their own levels and creations to make the game even better then it could be. The ability to make our own levels will make this game turn from a 50 level mario into a 1000+ level mario with bonus extras, custom abilities, ETC.
The levels that come straight out of the box probably won't be that big of a challenge but just wait tell someone creats a hard level, IT WILL BE HARD! The tools they give you to build gives you the opertunity to make something simple as pie, or more complicated then anything I can say.
justinb @ Aug 21st 2008 11:07AM
I tried to answer you question, but the post didn't post, let me try and make my answer smaller see if that helps.
Pretty much, compair it to a mario game, except. Mario has 50 + levels.
LBP has original 50 + levels. Plus user generated content.
That user generated content could be anywhere from easy to more diffictult then you can ever imagin.
WhiteSpy @ Aug 21st 2008 11:15AM
Thanks, it makes sense when you put it like that, I guess everything I saw was the easier levels. Later on in this video you see some sackboys dying, so if you don't have unlimited lives I can see how this can get tricky.
Benzito @ Aug 21st 2008 11:41AM
If you are familiar with Magaman poweredup, give it a try, and you will see what user generated level for plateformer game means.
All the new levels are amazing, and very creative. The variety is amazing, and the quality outstanding. And all made with a crappy level editor....
So, to answer your question, trust the mind of millions of players, and you will see the potential of LBP emerge from their mind.
50 levels + millions of crappy-to-outstanding stuff ( includin costumes....etc )
Popfrogs @ Aug 21st 2008 11:57AM
It's not just jumping. It's teaming up to lift heavy objects, scaling barriers, using the tethered jetpacks to reach higher areas, etc. There are also hazards (water, fire, maybe pits) that you have to platform across.
Yeah, it's similar to Mario in the fact that it's a platformer, but you could never edit Mario. I just wonder how you're going to get sound effects and music into the levels you create.

@4
if you had watched the live demo on G4 at E3 you would see how challenging the gameplay was, besides this is game ment to appeal for the casual people you dont play LBP if you want a challange, there's hard core games for that. It's like trying to play Wii Sports with a challenge... so think before you waist everyone's time with your comments.
justinb @ Aug 21st 2008 11:02AM
You don't have to be a jerk about his comment he just asked a simple question.
Arnon @ Aug 21st 2008 11:58AM
That was a little over the top.. and I thought the live demo @ E3 was showcasing the games going on the Best sellers list or w/e..

Shut up, german. I'll be buying this, and I'm a 32 yr old bloke!

Make no mistake, there will be easy and cute levels out there a plenty, and there will be some so cunningly devised that it will take you hours/days to complete, if you ever manage to.
This is as open-ended as it gets - don't let the adorable characters and ultra-smooth high-def graphics trick you into thinking this is a cute one-off. People will be playing this, and pushing it to new limits years from now...
Popfrogs @ Aug 21st 2008 11:58AM
My guess is that they're busy wrapping up video from Leipzig and will drop it on the store when ready. They did that for E3 but they were much faster.
xswordofwarx @ Aug 21st 2008 12:00PM
Trophies will probably be much harder to get in the retail version that people will buy. This is just to show proof that it has trophies and what they look like.
This is just to show the game off. When you buy the game the trophies wont be that easy. Every game is suppose to have like 10 trophies so why would they let you have 5 in one level? Think about it guys...
stargateheaven @ Aug 21st 2008 7:32PM
10 trophies? what? why do people make stuff up?
Bucket @ Aug 21st 2008 12:38PM
Is it me or does the game look buggy now? There are graphical glitches appearing where there weren't any before. Also, people appear to be running off-screen whereas earlier the screen would zoom out. That could be annoying.
I realize that as you add features and get close to going gold, seemingly unrelated bugs pop up that you have to squash-- but we're REALLY close to the release date and I'm afraid there'll be a delay.
Dmacleod14 @ Aug 21st 2008 1:02PM
it looked like 2x multiplier to me, which would make more sense

After seeing those hats, I only have one question: Who is gonna make the Indiana Jones level?
Gambit07 @ Aug 21st 2008 2:45PM
I wish it was this easy to get trophies in Eden...
drdre74 @ Aug 21st 2008 3:03PM
I'm not even going to look at the video. I don't want to see anything on this game. I want to save it all for when I first get the game and smell the new packaging and slide the disc in the PS3 for the first time.
Waqman @ Aug 21st 2008 4:35PM
Cool, I bet the harder trophies will be near impossible. Probably make you build some contraption to get you to some unreachable point.
I can't wait for this game, I didn't need trophies to excite me, but it helps :)
This and Fallout 3 in late October are going to leech all of my time (apart from studying).
