A closer look at Burnout's new bikes
We're still amazed at the incredible amount of content Criterion is adding to Burnout Paradise ... for FREE. The PS3-loving guys at Criterion uploaded new shots to the PlayStation.blog, and boy does this FREE update look incredible. This is the first time bikes have been implemented in the Burnout series ... and did we mention this content will be FREE?
The developers promise that the bike pack will add about 9-10 hours of gameplay, and 70 new challenges. Other games barely include that much content out of the box. More exciting however: "every new pack we build for Burnout Paradise is grander than the last." And we know that they're not going to just stop at bikes ...

what happened to the planes?? really wondering how that will work out and will trophies be in this update or will it come at a later or earlier date?
Sora57 @ Aug 22nd 2008 12:04PM
Criterion has said the trophies will come in an update after the bikes, not with the bikes.

About 1080i support...I heard that an update to the game made the game playable in 1080i, but I wasn't sure if this was confirmed or not.
Does anyone know if this is true? thanks
LT.shinysides @ Aug 22nd 2008 12:32PM
Burnout can play in 1080i now, since the last update :)
Great work from these guys, hope they keep it up :D

This is why I love criterion. Releasing it for free is awesome. Now if only MS lets Valve release the TF2 updates for free on live I'll be overjoyed.

Criterion are now one of the few developers who are doing this for the fans, and not large amounts of money.Surprising, seeing EA has their money grabbing claws around the neck of Criterion. But, none-the-less, a good thing...

I hope all this free content pays off for Criterion in the end, they deserve all the success and hopefully the PSN version gives them a good boost. I still don't get how planes fit in all this though...

PS3 loving? It's not coming to the 360 version or something? Damn I bought it for the wrong platform D:

These devs are absolute superstars. So much content for free - when the paid stuff hits I'll gladly pull out my wallet in support. Like adrien said, everyone should be buying this game if not just for the fact it's a great game, but to show some support to a developer who backs their product (and players) with incredible content LONG after most others would have moved on.

Will buy as soon as it's on PSN. Yeah, I'm that lazy when it comes to changing discs, which BTW, I wish I could do for all my games (run from HDD that is..).

Criterion's doing an awesome thing with the amount of free stuff they make for burnout paradise. The game's awesome too, best driving/racing game I ever played since rock 'n' roll racing. :D
(If only the cars in paradise had missile launchers and mine racks... Oh boyy!)
