LittleBigPlanet confirmed region free by SCEE rep

Chalk this one up as a LittleBigWin for LittleBigPlanet fans. A Sony representative has posted on the official European PlayStation forums to clarify the region locking issue, stating that "there will only be one region for the game.... a LittleBigRegion."

"The confusion arose out of regional differences in how moderation will work as there are different legal rules each region have to play by, and at one point this looked like it may require the game to be independent in each region". Thankfully, this was unnecessary in the end. So you can stop fretting now; your level creations will be playable worldwide and, perhaps more importantly, we're going to have a huge selection of content from all different cultures to play with soon after launch. Is it October 29th yet?

ure mistaking me for some1 else, ive never gone on about region locking. Either way, this post is about the online aspect of the game rather than the disk itself. It basically means Jeff the brit can play with John the yank, and Jim the Jap all on the same level, and that was in question before this announcement

There was talk about the littlebigplanet 'servers' being region specific. As in US content stays in the US and EU content stays in the EU. This is clarification, that is not the case.

At least how I understand it.

Man, this is great news. I mean, I know we haven't done anything to affect the outcome, but as an American gamer living abroad, this feels like a victory. If nothing else, from the feeling that Sony has people like me in mind -- they obviously wanted to keep the game as global as possible. This is the main reason I bought my PS3, and one of the fundamental reasons I love it so.

Little Big Planet is listed at Gamespot and Gamestop as a 21st release, not 29th... did I miss something or is that a typo?

As for reserve bonuses, I was banking on an actual physical little plush Sackboy. I'm sure they'll sell em after the game comes out, and I'll have to just buy one then.

I think Originally it was the 21st, but they recently changed it.

Its amazing how many Wii/360 trolls talk bad about this game at gamespot. Its like troll city down there.

If LBP was multi-platform or a Wii or 360 exclusive they wouldn't be complaining.

Same thing goes for Heavy Rain.

Anyway, i'm sooo playing with my Aussie friends.
