LittleBigPlanet Kratos sackboy costume can be shared

Thanks to a poster on NeoGAF, we have some details regarding the popular Kratos sackboy costume for LittleBigPlanet. First of all, the card is given to you immediately when you preorder in-store. According the GameStop website, if you preordered online or you arranged for in-store pickup, your code will be e-mailed to you one week before the game ships. The code must also be redeemed by January 8th, 2009.

Lastly, like PSN games, each code will be associated with a PSN account -- which "allows download of the LittleBigPlanet in-game costume on 5 PS3 systems per account." Too bad you don't get five pouches to share with your friends, huh? Reverse side of the above LBP code card, after the jump:

"Upon receiving your game, follow these instructions closely to download your new costume:

Open an account on the PLAYSTATION Network (or use an existing account) on your PS3.
From the PLAYSTATION Network icon on the Xross Media Bar, select 'Account Management'.
Enter 'Transaction Management'.
Select 'Redeem PLAYSTATION Network Card or Promotion Code'.
Enter promotion code. Please note that the promotion code is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed.

Once the promtional code has been entered correctly click continue. Once you accept the terms you will be taken to the download screen."

yeah, did you see the sackboy plushie on the playstation blog yesterday? the postcard has a pic of the toy sitting in a brown apolsered (however it's spelt..) car.
Looks pretty awesome, hopefully they're available to the public too

So how does this work, exactly? One simply can't just ask a friend for the code and use it (being one of 5), they have to have a PSN account of the person who pre-ordered on their PS3?

Err, I didn't get that card the other day when I pre-ordered, I guess I'm going to have to go back and ask them for one.

I got the opposite. When I did my preorder they gave me this shrinkwrapped pack. I thought it was a book with the code in it... nope, 15 Kratos access codes!

Guess I can do an E-bay and recover the cost of the game.

I pre-ordered Fallout 3, chat with the cashier a little bit. he just gave me the littleBigPlanet promo code, didn't expect that. i was yelling inside..f-ing yeah. I pre-order asia version of LBP because i want Chinese/English language version instead :)

I honestly doubt the idiots over at my gamestop will give me it...why?

They wouldn't give me the beta code for MGS Online until I got the game, meaning I wasn't able to participate in the beta which ran from May something to June 5 or w/e...

I had other ways of getting in, but its the principle of the matter. Those guys should be educated more.

Does it mean that I'm able to download it onto 5 different PS3:s through my account, or 5 times total (then I have to buy it once more, since this rule applies to all priced PSN downloads).

Every time you sign into your PSN account and download something from the PS store on any PS3, this PS3 becomes linked to your PSN account. Once you've activated your PSN account on 5 PS3's you can't activate it on any more.

So if you share files with 4 of your friends then you can only share ANY of your files with those 4 same friends. You can't mix and match with specific files.

I see. But I can download an item I've bought on the PSN an unlimited number of times, I never have to re-buy the same item? E.g. if I format the HDD like 5 times.

Fairly certain that you only get 5 downloads of the games you purchase. Theoretically that takes care of any having to re-downloaded after a system crash, etc. So...download wisely.

I'm already pre-ordered for the Kratos costume! I don't want the Narito costume b/c I know ill only be using 1 primary costume always, not 2. It kinda disgusts me that there pulling a Soul Calibur 4; making some feel good (vader), and others left out (yoda).

As w/ the Kratos costume, the Nariko costume is actually a number of elements (sword, hair, tunic, etc.) that you can use to customize your sack-boy/girl. I'd like to have more elements to make my own custom.

If your local Gamestop forgot to give you a card... or said they were out, you can always bug them until you get a card. A good manager will be able to request more. I used to work for them and we would ofted run out of the freebies that we got for preorders.
