Amazon's Gold Box goes all PS3 August 27

It's hard to resist a good deal. When we heard that Amazon's Gold Box of cheapness was going to get an all out PS3-themed discount bazaar, we thought we just had to share it with everyone. The bargains begin on August 27; however, like all Gold Box events, the discounted items will remain a mystery until that day and upon the hour for those "lightning deals." We can't wait to see what's in store come this Wednesday!

Amazon has the Gold Box events like every week I think... at the very least once a month. Not always just on video games though, of course. They do seem to do video games pretty often though. Last month it was Nintendo DS games and I believe the month before that was Wii games.

I was just going to say that. Amazon.ca sticks to the MSRP and rarely goes below it.

If they don't want my business, thats fine. I now rely on Futureshop/Bestbuy for my video game sales. Every once in a while new games sell for 49.99 instead of their usual 59.99

they have lightning deals every day, go to the website www.amazon.com and on the top bar clock todays deals. Wow that's so hard! They usually have a set number they have to sell, and they have set times throughout the day they sell specific items.

How do these work? Will there be one item every hour or is it like woot where it is a sell out of one then the next is posted.

I'm going to be on the Arizona-Mexican Border that day, I need to find some type of notification service that will send me an email when something changes if it is like a woot off. Can't be on the smartphone all day as the battery will die.
