It's never too late: Warhawk demo may be in the works
The team at Incognito has been expanding the Warhawk universe in quite a number of ways, with three expansion packs, various free patches and tutorials for beginner players. While the Warhawk community seems rather healthy, it appears that Incognito is going to go another step further: it looks to be making a downloadable demo available in the future. An impromptu Q&A developed on the PlayStation.blog, with one reader asking Dylan Jobe about the possibilitiy of a demo. "What about a demo of sorts? A game like this won't ever see my purchase if I can't even try it out."
To that, Jobe responds: "We're on it." Considering this is an online-only title, how would a Warhawk demo even work? Would there simply be a server dedicated to demo-only players? Or will, it be a time-limited offering? Guess we'll find out whenever Warhawk's better-late-than-never demo appears.
[Thanks, Kyle!]

thank god omg seriously i lost interest on the game cuz of all the ownage going on
AlterEgo @ Aug 26th 2008 12:10AM
lmao Warhawk DEFINITELY has a steep learning curve.
I bought it the first day, got OWNED like I've never been owned before (most likely by the beta testers)...and turned it off telling myself I'd never play again. (this was also my first online game)
Then I thought...man..I paid $40 for this game...I'm GONNA play. I hopped back on and have been owning ever since. Takes a while to get 'used' to it...but it's definitely one of my favorite PS3 games. I'd play it over COD4 for the online fun aspect anyday.
(I also have both the expansions and plan on getting this one asap)

Also besides the tutorials the patch adds the ability to segment players by their rankings FOR REAL THIS TIME. So, you can get on a noobs-only server and you won't get 100% owned every 10 seconds.
SuperGayParade @ Aug 25th 2008 11:13PM
awesome!
Daniel @ Aug 25th 2008 11:14PM
Yeah I don't get how a demo would work but if this brings in more noobs to pwn then I'm down for it! :)
John-Paul-Jones @ Aug 25th 2008 11:17PM
Even though there might be no need of this demo for me to make a purchase of this awesomely hailed game, I would still like to try out how the game feels and such. I'd like to think of it as a prequel of some sorts to the game.
kevin @ Aug 25th 2008 11:34PM
i bought it for 30 bucks a long time ago and its really cool but out of nowhere u die. im amazing at cod4 then i play this and get owned.i even team kill ugh i cant do anything right on that game lol
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Aug 25th 2008 11:18PM
I hope they do make this demo! I would love to finally try Warhawk. :)
John S @ Aug 25th 2008 11:19PM
Just what I wanted to read.
spyker @ Aug 25th 2008 11:23PM
I'm thinking it would be one map, one game type, a few servers, and not all the weapons. But what do I care? I already own this pwnsome game.
Albanian_Killa @ Aug 26th 2008 12:00AM
I think it's too late for a demo. Way too late.
Popfrogs @ Aug 26th 2008 12:13AM
Bah, it's never too late to demo Warhawk. Remember, the holiday season is coming up soon and there will be a bunch of new, hungry players wanting to try everything. The more demos, the better.
ChrisP @ Aug 26th 2008 12:02AM
The funny thing is I was about to post on the PSBlog that I really wish they had a demo or trial...then said to myself....probably already been asked by a lot of people...so said forget it. Now I read this. I hope its true as I don't think I would buy it before playing it.
Cybran @ Aug 26th 2008 3:57AM
They might put up the Tutorial missions coming in the 1.5 patch as the demo
j.howlett @ Aug 26th 2008 4:42AM
that's a good idea
nakedatthecomp @ Aug 26th 2008 12:38AM
FINALLY!! I've been wanting to get Warhawk forever but never wanted to shell out a couple dozen for a game that I'd never seen or played... it could likely get my buy if a demo came out soon.
The1stMJC @ Aug 26th 2008 12:43AM
Well people anyone with the current expansion packs and planning to get the next one like myself add me

It kind of reminds me of BF:BC. I too bought it, played it for about 20 minutes, and then never went back oddly enough.
frankym @ Aug 26th 2008 12:57AM
Don't understand who's cheap enough to buy a PS3 and not own Warhawk....especially at this price.
cwyze23 @ Aug 26th 2008 6:30AM
Lol Well I wasn't sure how good this game was The funny thing is i say the same thing about Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank The other day i was telling some guy about Uncharted and he was like wth is that? lol
I'm not sure that i'll like Warhawk but if they release a demo and it's good i'll definitely purchase it.

This would be a great idea! I'm half attracted to it, but with some gameplay I'd really understand if I like the game or not :p
James @ Aug 26th 2008 2:23AM
Seems hard to actually do when you think of it. With only 5 vanilla maps they'll have to give them a big chunk of the game to really understand and appreciate it.
If you don't own this game at it's like $30 retail or hell this week if you print a coupon and find it used at GS/EB you'll get it for like $18, you really need to pick it up. If you hate it it's $18, not much else you can get with that in terms of PS3 games.
eric @ Aug 26th 2008 8:50AM
the Demo is great but could you please fix the ranks im a captain but ive got the required points and stuff for air marshel and im still not ranking up please fix this
drdre74 @ Aug 26th 2008 9:47AM
I had the game and traded it in. I just couldn't get into it as much as i tried. I hate games where you can shoot someone for 5 min and they can just run up on you and knife you with one slice. I just didn't like the game much at all. Who knows maybe a demo will help me out since half the time i didn't know what was going on in the game.
jmc0b @ Aug 26th 2008 10:04AM
this is one demo ive been waiting for .. ive been on the fence about warhawk since day one i want to play it and try it
kevin @ Aug 26th 2008 2:28PM
rent it...
massive_98 @ Aug 26th 2008 12:28PM
I think if any old game needs a demo its Lair. Most people didn't even try it because it got bad reviews. For anyone who's played it, you'd probably agree with me that the training sessions and one level would make a very good demo.
moiskyrie @ Aug 26th 2008 2:56PM
Nice, it's exactly what I've been waiting for. Been meaning to try it, but not enough to motivate me to buy it yet.
