You are '100 percent' going Home this year

Home Producer Martijn Van der Meulen told IGN "without hesitation" that there is a "100 percent guarantee" that the oft-delayed Home will be released by "the end of this calendar year." Not 2009. Not 2010. This year. "He has absolutely no doubt that this will be the case."

We're not surprised by this. While many on the internet joke about the "DelayStation 3," the rapidly expanding beta and increasing developer support for Home makes us honestly believe Mr. Martijn Van der Meulen.

Although I do absolutely believe that some form of Home will be available to the public at large this year.... Another Sony staffer saying something 'will be out' at some point means nothing. Almost every single thing Sony says will be out at a certain date is almost always delayed, with the exception of the video store... and even that isnt rolled out globally yet. They still have time to cock that up to.

Anyway, bring on Home, even though its not nearly as enticing as it was a year ago.

cut me a river emo kid cut me a river. They delayed it for a year. It's not surprising to me. Good things take time. Good things that aren't producing money take even more time...

If you want to blame someone blame the skeptical people. Blame yourselves. Why? Simple... The people like you guys who are skeptical about Home no matter what and aren't optimistic and realistic about the project demand greatness. If they had released it when originally done people like you and other doomsayers would have said that "Home wasn't worth the wait" even once its' worth the wait people will still say "This isn't worth the wait."

The problem with all of that is, that they will never meet expectations which sucks, because people will use Home to bash it. So they delayed it in order to have the fewest enemies of Home as possible by developing it to the best of their abilities. When we see Home it will much better than it would have been prior. They are trying to do as near perfect in the release as they can so that when everyone boots up Home, people aren't stating "WHAT THE HELL I CAN'T EVEN CONNECT.... WHY IS THIS LIKE THAT.... WHAT THE HECK..THIS ISN'T THE PERFECT STREAMLINED IMPOSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE IDEA I HAD IN MY HEAD THIS IS A REALISTIC IDEAL I SHOULD HAVE HELD IN MY HEAD. I HATE YOU SONY"

Excuse the massive use of parody and sarcasm but that's essentially what most Home haters should be saying. Can you blame Sony? No... now when consumers are THIS impossible to please.

Man, at this point I don't even care when HOME will be released. I've lost the hype, but I'm not saying it's going to be a bad product. I do want it to be awesome, but right now, meh.

I'm sure Home might be a bit interesting, but this was delayed too much for my tastes. If this were released a year and a half ago, back when it was first announced, I would have been so thrilled and excited, but by now, I can already tell that it won't be something I'll use often.

It's not like I'm upset because of the delays, it's just that I was excited for it, but by now, I don't think of it as a cool, big PS3 feature. It's just some little thing developed for the PS3 to me now.

LittleBigPlanet is coming later than it was originally slated to release, but every time they'd talk about that game, it seemed like they'd keep showing new things, so you didn't care that it wasn't out yet because you knew that, when you got it, it would be amazing. Home, on the other hand, seemed to be showing less and less as time went on.

i beleive it will come. A while back sony announced that Home will hit ps3's by the end of this year. All we have to do is wait. I know, they have a tendency to delay things, especially Home, but i think it will be a pretty decent experience.

can't wait to see home. I don't care if it's been delayed. This is a ten year system. The PS3 is the most advanced console you can get as far as technology. All the systems have their impressive features. Take your time with this Sony because it's been a great ride so far. THANK YOU SONY, from a long time customer and fan of more Sony products than just my PS3.
