Red Baron Arcade brings air combat to PSN in September
Download to PSP
Stainless Studios is bringing their PC arcade air combat game to the PSN in September. Set in World War I, Red Baron challenges players to tackle 36 single player missions, or go head-to-head in 8 player online multiplayer. There will be over 20 aircraft to choose from, and multiple modes: deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag. It's a genre seriously under-represented on the PSN, and we're sure many will try the downloadable demo when it releases on September 18th.

Make sure you have the latest version of Flash:

required @ Aug 26th 2008 4:39PM
I am so sick of Flash and I wish folks would give it up and return to simply embedding the video (mp4 mpeg mov etc)
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 26th 2008 4:52PM
I love required.

I think if they did they couldn't eyeball and click track our asses like AOL is doing here on Weblogs with Tubemogul.
TubeMogul's analytic technology aggregates video-viewing data from multiple sources to give publishers improved understanding of when, where and how often videos are watched, track and compare what's hot and what's not, measure the impact of marketing campaigns, gather competitive intelligence, and share the data with colleagues or friends
BOOOOOOOOOOOOO....I JUST want to watch the videos while browsing on my PS3 dammit.
Andrew Yoon @ Aug 26th 2008 6:30PM
Actually, we are going to have fully downloadable videos "soon"-ish. We just need the proper infrastructure to let that happen. And believe you me, I will ensure that our videos work on the PS3 when that time comes!

"I am so sick of Flash and I wish folks would give it up and return to simply embedding the video (mp4 mpeg mov etc)"
because Flash is a more universal format. Windows users need QT for mp4 and mov, Mac users need Flip4Mac for WMV and ASF. everyone needs flash.
thinkofmeasmra @ Aug 27th 2008 9:58AM
I agree with #7. Learn something about the advantages of flash before you come with an inferior suggestion. As #7, every OS would need a certain player, not to mention Codecs which you'd have to download for some videos on top of that video player.
Where as now over 98% of internet connected pc's have flash. And considering flash movie files (flv) have to be converted to that format, additional codecs are not an issue. Therefore flash is the easiest and most user-friendly way to go about it so, stop whining.

looks good!
Redhawk @ Aug 26th 2008 3:33PM
This could be soo awesome if it were like a 24 online player game :D
gameforall @ Aug 26th 2008 3:33PM
This PSN thing is really costing me money. They keep adding games that I enjoy
reson8er @ Aug 26th 2008 3:36PM
Not my cup of tea, but I hope it turns out well.
GENTLEMEN @ Aug 26th 2008 3:47PM
Ah crap. Is Sierra going to destroy another one of their beloved franchises? And why isn't it at least 16 players at that graphics level?
GENTLEMEN @ Aug 26th 2008 3:45PM
Damn Sierra
maxpontiac @ Aug 26th 2008 4:08PM
Give me trophies, and it's a first day pick up.
Love flight games, and considering none of them have trophies, it's a no brainer..
kazper22 @ Aug 26th 2008 4:42PM
sry guys but it looks like a ps2 game... it plays like a ps2 game... hell ... it smells like a ps2 game... a bad one at that.... color me uninterested.
Kodros @ Aug 26th 2008 4:24PM
It's a PSN game. Are you telling me that Everyday Shooter, flOw, Super Stardust HD, Echochrome, Pain, Calling All Cars, etc... don't look like PS2 games? It looks like you don't understand the point of PSN games.
Mike @ Aug 26th 2008 4:35PM
And its also 10 bucks at most dumbass
Alex @ Aug 26th 2008 4:37PM
alot of the psn games couldnt be run on the ps2
mostly because of the resolution thing and the tilt controller
hahaha:P
kazper22 @ Aug 26th 2008 5:02PM
flow, everyday, ssdhd, and echochrome all brought something new to the table... while this game looks like a crappy rehash of Warhawks aerial game play... I still play shadow of colossus weekly... but thats because it has heart and originality... but this is void of anything trying to push the envelope (Game play, Graphics, Sound, Story...ect)... I just don't understand why any one would be excited about this...
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 26th 2008 4:54PM
Looks like a PS2 game? It's a PC game that came out four years before the PS1.
rafael @ Aug 26th 2008 4:17PM
This would be awesome if they somehow incorporated 32 person multiplayer, periodic updates, periodic expansion packs, tanks, jeeps, footsoldiers, jetpacks, dropships, capture the flag, TDM... If only there was a game that was like that... I would def buy that...
o wait
kevin @ Aug 26th 2008 6:33PM
ur sense of humor fails.

WARHAWK!
Gman @ Aug 26th 2008 4:20PM
Looks fun, and I hope it does well, but Warhawk provides just as much air combat as I need.
roger roper @ Aug 26th 2008 4:25PM
The graffics look terrible
Chris. Simply @ Aug 26th 2008 4:28PM
P.S. PS3Fanboy just thought I'd say new Project Abraham Video is up. And again it's pretty brutal.

It's no Ace Combat, but if the price is right it looks a good investment, depending on control scheme.
NightHawk @ Aug 26th 2008 5:01PM

blindaAngle @ Aug 27th 2008 5:40AM
