Vote for your favorite Resistance 2 LE cover at IGN

Video game cover art usually comes in two flavors: "awesome" and "please put the box face-down and never show that to me again." Insomniac is looking for your help to make sure Resistance 2's box art belongs squarely in the first category, by asking you to vote on your favorite cover art over at IGN. More specifically, this is to vote for the Collector's Edition which, let's be honest here, the majority of you will be picking up on launch day.

Of the three images, only one stands out to us as the clear winner (we wonder if you can guess which one ...), but maybe you have different ideas. Let us know which one you've picked in the comments after you've cast your vote. Just head on over to IGN and click the correct link at the bottom to email the correct vote.

Also, notice the "Only on PlayStation" and "PlayStation Network" logo at the top. Looks pretty nice, if you ask us. We're looking forward to seeing these logos printed at the top of many more PS3 games in the future.

not really. it's too busy and doesn't get the point across well enough. Hale and the alien are really too small to read properly straight away.

imagine seeing this on a store shelf and not on a game forum page and you'll see what i mean.

Please don't make cover 1 or 2 the regular edition...They are the exact same pic just one is zoomed up. And also, this isn't really a contest. Cover 3 FTW.

While I wholeheartedly agree with the pictured cover numero tres, I do disagree with the inclusion of the "Only on PlayStation" and "PlayStation Network" logo at the top. A tad too much if you ask me.

#3 won my vote. hopefully it does get released. the article states that it will be for the collector's edition version. If it has cover #3, i will def. go collector's edition.

i like 1. a clear shot of his eye burning red and the chaos in the background. leaves you wondering.

hmmm. the first two suck. the 3rd is the best one. the first one is laid out too much like Metal gear solids cover with the close up of the face.

I voted #3 and don't mind the "only on" and the "psn" tags, but I don't understand why, after all the meticulous marketing with the Spider-man font branding, did they use the old-school Playstation font?

I wonder if there ever was much of a contest to begin with. With #3 so much better looking, in my opinion, I feel that #3 was chosen to be the design all along, but they just made two more purposefully less cool designs just to promote the one that they want.

How about one without 4 different references to it being a PS3 game? Hell i fakking love my PS3, but i completely understand that:
1. Resistance 2 is for the PS3
2. Resistance 2 is ONLY for the PS3
3. I can play on the Playstation Network
4. Sony owns the "Playstation" brand

I would also venture a guess that most people into gaming also understand these things. So lets clean up the design/layout a bit, yeah?

While the "Only on PlayStation" looks nice, I don't think Sony should take this Microsoft-like route. I mean, I still laugh when I see Gears of War 1 cover for the 360 and it says "Only on XBOX 360". Sony will look pretty stupid for lost exclusives, but whatever, anyway, I like the sick PLAYSTATION Network header.

the pictured cover on this site for Resistance 2 has a mistake that took me a minute to realize..on the bottom part which is supposed to be upside down, everything works with the top portion, but the letters from the 'Diner' sign on the right, aren't upside down in the bottom one, when everything else is.

While I am not that crazy about any of them I had a tough choice between 1 & 3. After looking at #3 for awhile I would have to say that I like cover #1 the best. I hate cover #2 though byfar.

I wonder why, for as long as I can remember on any PS system, there hasn't been an "Only on PS/X/1/2/3/P" label on any of them. I just found it kind of odd.

And why does it say "Only on PlayStation" and not "Only on PlayStation 3"? Are they referring to retribution, or the series as a whole?

Anyway, 3rd one kicks ass. What is the boxart for the regular edition? (I'm gonna get LE anyway, but just out of curiosity...)

These covers suck. None of them convey the "epic-ness" of the game.

Personally, I rather see this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/LXrDKhaXZ/Resistance_2_Artwork_Pics_4.jpg) with maybe Hale standing in the foreground, looking tired and up at the sky.

1. we want to show our hero's face that reflects his altered alien change.

2. we don't want a cover with our hero shouting at us. it's really not attractive to have that in a game cover period.

3. we definitely do NOT want the hero being raped on our game cover. especially if it's subtitled "Rise of Man".
