PSN cards expanding to Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and Rite-Aid in September
The only time we ever saw a PLAYSTATION Network card was when Sony gave us one for Christmas. Never -- not even once -- have we seen these cards available at a retail store. This is easily one of the most demanded items from our readers, many who don't have a credit card to use for the PSN. Thankfully, support for these cards will expand in September to stores we've actually heard of.
According to the PlayStation website, these pre-paid cards can be found at Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and Rite-Aid this September. So whether you're renting a movie, drinking a Slurpee, or buying some condoms in a rush -- keep an eye out for these PSN cards.

jimmyink @ Aug 28th 2008 9:24AM
apparently sony has stopped taking visa gift cards. My brother and then I tried, wouldn't work and we called sony and they said they stopped accepting them, because they aren't accountable or some crap.
ZENegade @ Aug 27th 2008 5:27PM
PSN is for lovers.
SOCOMRAIDER @ Aug 27th 2008 5:29PM
We need it the other way. Blockbuster online expanding to support streaming on the PS3!
lantus @ Aug 27th 2008 5:43PM
Except Blockbuster is a sinking ship, and Netflix is completely raping it.
Eggy @ Aug 28th 2008 5:37AM
Netflix online offering is piss poor. If Blockbuster could set up a much better online catalog they can earn alot of dollars.
Omni_Noesis @ Aug 27th 2008 6:52PM
I've seen these at my local sony store (sonystyle) in Orange County, New York. They had a bunch but I didn't need one seeing as how I have a debit card already.
John-Paul-Jones @ Aug 27th 2008 5:32PM
Finally Sony said something about the PlayStation cards. It's been too damn long, but I hope this is also for the Blockbuster and rare 7-11's here in Canada (No Rite-Aid).
realityzero @ Aug 27th 2008 6:48PM
7-11's rare in Canada?? We seem to have one on every other street in Manitoba here.

Not just in Canada. Houston, TX doesn't have any 7/11s either.
thinkofmeasmra @ Aug 28th 2008 9:28AM
There's plenty in the Greater Toronto Area including the suburbs
ryuk @ Aug 27th 2008 5:40PM

Lionp696 @ Aug 27th 2008 5:38PM
Will these be out in Canada?
lantus @ Aug 27th 2008 5:40PM
Yes! I have a Blockbuster right around the block!
Rated-G @ Aug 27th 2008 5:44PM
I saw some red and black $50 PSN gift cards at the BX in Abilene, TX... Dyess AFB. So apparently... the military has PSN cards.
Wonderflex @ Aug 27th 2008 5:48PM
Now...if they could only start to stock JPSN cards I would be happy.

Ok thats 1 $20 PSN Card, 1 Big Gulp, and a pack of Weenie Beenies. That'll be $29.87 please. Ahhhh OK, I"ll just put this back. Here you go. Your change sir, and have a great night. Oh I will. ..............Here's your pop honey. Where's the condoms? Yea I'm sorry babe, they were all out.
Batman @ Aug 28th 2008 12:48AM
AHAHAHHA HILARIOUS!! GOOD SHIT!
NeoRaiden @ Aug 27th 2008 6:15PM
I don't even care anymore. I've heard this story a million times before. They'll come up with another excuse as to why they are not here yet. I personally don't care as I have no use for them, but SCEA has pissed me off many times to many.
John-Paul-Jones @ Aug 28th 2008 1:14AM
I truly second that. DelayStation truly lives up to its name
pliny5678 @ Aug 27th 2008 6:27PM
I will probably buy these once in awhile. My credit card needs a rest. ;-)
Mana Knight @ Aug 27th 2008 6:34PM
Hey PS3 Fanboy,
I'm Mana Knight, the one who spotted PSN Cards at Meijer and took the picture of Meijer carrying them. I was going to say (not sure if you ever mentioned it), Speedway Gas Station Convenient Stores have PSN Cards right now. Others on forums have reported it and I've seen them there too. I should have taken a picture, but oh well.
dr.shivago @ Aug 27th 2008 6:41PM
the only other place ive ever seen these were at a speedway in the middle of nowhere, IL
Davsot @ Aug 27th 2008 7:22PM
Why can't they just send them to Walgreens or EB Games?!?! I'm afraid there's none of the stores mentioned in Puerto Rico. Of all the stores!!!
C.S @ Aug 27th 2008 7:24PM
FINALLY!!!! U DONT KNOW HOW MUCH STUFF I WANT ON PSN!!!
peter @ Aug 28th 2008 5:06AM

Tolkienfanatic @ Aug 27th 2008 9:45PM
Definitely gotta pick up some PSN cards with my next Trojan purchase.
Adam @ Aug 27th 2008 9:49PM
Actually i do have a use for them. Me and my brother and several people we know can't even get our cc to work. I called the help line and all their advise did not work. So why is it so hard to ship these to a best buy or wal mart. I mean the wii and the 360 have so what is the deal
PurpleDrapes @ Aug 27th 2008 11:50PM
I have all three of those within a 1/2 mile of my house!
PSN:xdeathtoSocetyx @ Aug 28th 2008 1:11AM
Cant wait for PSN CARDS.already have condoms.
skoochy @ Aug 28th 2008 3:41AM
I, too, have fallen for this "coming soon" ruse in regards to the PSN cards (remember the December post on the blog about how we would be able to use them very soon).
Then it hit me... September of WHAT YEAR?
VeryFatVideoGamer @ Aug 28th 2008 10:27AM
Finally I can pickup blunt wraps and PSN cards in the same store! (711 that is)
Ves @ Aug 28th 2008 10:27AM
I still don't understand why they aren't testing it int he European regions, it will be an even bigger hit then it would in NA.
MarcioSMG @ Aug 28th 2008 10:42AM
Does anyone have any idea when the PSN cards are gonna come to Wal-mart, Best Buy, etc.?
Thanks in advance
10VD @ Aug 28th 2008 11:25AM

Not very helpful answer but expected nonetheless

I get a $50 PSN every payday. That's because I work on a Air Force Base though. I've been telling the store manager to advertise them because they can't be found everywhere but he don't listen.
