Dead Space is dated for October 24th in the UK, 21st in the US
Looks like Halloween might be coming a little early for some of you. The surivor-horror title Dead Space, which uses the PS3 as the lead platform, was originally set to debut in the United Kingdom on October 31st. It has been pushed up to October 24th, which is United Nations Day. Is that a day to be afraid of too?
The American release date has also been confirmed yet again. We always knew it would be at the end of October, but EA kept changing up the dates on us. First it was Halloween, then it was the 28th, and now finally they have decided on an October 21st release date. Check out the gallery below or preorder the game here.

Wow. Didn't know the PS3 was the lead platform for this game. I know this is the case for Mirror's Edge. Looks like EA is actually waking up.

Glad to see another title using the PS3 as lead development.
It makes sense, and benefits all parties.
Game companies use the RODbox as lead platform are only hurting their customers.

The NA release date has been 21 Oct since E3. So Joystiq got sucked into some noob's story on another website and are now printing it as well. Go back to the story since that guy has even updated it with "relevant" information...

EA sent out a press release.
I don't know why every news site wrote this up . It's not news. But the reason it happened TODAY is that EA sent out a press release today.

Wow Fallout 3, Dead Space and LittleBigPlanet all in the matter of a week and a half?
jgpliskin @ Aug 29th 2008 5:46PM
This aint gonna sell well;bad timing.
Sauvage @ Aug 29th 2008 5:47PM
Deep Space on October 24th and Fallout 3 on October 28th! The 4th quater of this year will eb the most expensive in gaming history, with all the other stuff coming out in November as well. I think I'll stick to PS3 exclusives first and give them my money and buy the multi-plat in the new year when their prices have dropped.

i'm liking everything i see from this game but i don't know if i can do survival horror any time soon. just don't feel like being that restricted

I hope you all know that the 360 was originally the lead platform; they switched it up so the versions would be identical.
jarhead906 @ Aug 30th 2008 5:57PM
That's all well and good, but the fact that they DID switch from 360 to PS3 just demonstrates how that will help the quality of the product and that experience in developing for the PS3 for future products.
By the way, this may be the first title from EA that won't suck (including NCAA '09 and Madden '09) in a long while.

I've got it on preorder...this just looks awsome
anthonyjh @ Aug 30th 2008 10:58PM
With Fallout, LBP, and this releasing so soon together, I just can't make the purchase. Bad timing EA...
