2 disc special edition? Just how many extras is there that Transformers needs two Blu Ray discs for it's content?
Something tells me there's alot of un-used space on those discs and this is a healthy marketing ploy.

There was about 1 GB of spare room on disc 1. If you are shoving DVD quality video and audio on to a blu-ray disc, then sure, there will be tons of room. However, with top notch video and lossless audio that room gets taken up quickly. I mean, the movie is about two and a half hours long.
If the extras are in HD, (which I'm not sure they are) then they definitely needed their own disc.

Speaking of Eastwood, is Escape From Alcatraz on Blu-ray yet? I haven't seen it around.
Kspraydad @ Aug 31st 2008 11:30PM
No announcement.

How is it a special edition when it's the only edition? Unless the special designation is meant to signify that this edition is the special edition and the other previous three versions of this movie are not special. But I'm pretty sure at least one of those other three versions were also marked as "special".

Nothing worth buying this week, but that's a good thing. The rest of September is packed with must-buy releases.

God, I hated Transformers. Nifty CG, I won't deny, but everything that wasn't massive robot smashing was absolute garbage, and there was a surprising amount of garbage.
Waqman @ Sep 1st 2008 12:33AM
Even the robot smashing was garbage. Terrible movie....even for Michael Bay's standards. And thats saying alot.
itchy18 @ Sep 1st 2008 5:01AM
you two are weird. what are you watching? CINDERELLA? SNOW WHITE? tsk tsk.
Lars @ Sep 2nd 2008 1:58PM
It's true, Transformers was pretty crappy. Actually I was really liking the first half of the movie. Unfortunately it just got worse and worse towards the end.
aj @ Aug 31st 2008 9:41PM
"Under Siege 2" is amazingly funny. I wish they would just go ahead and admit it's supposed to be a comedy.
......And it's even better if you've seen the TV version.
ADPolicenaut @ Sep 1st 2008 5:03AM
Under Siege 2 was a pinnacle in Everett McGill's obscure career.
Deaddy @ Sep 2nd 2008 3:30AM
Transformers was spectacular.
