Official LittleBigPlanet Sackboy plushies shown in Japanese ad
Some of you are happy with your Kratos and Nariko virtual sackpersons, but those of you who are looking to a physical Sackboy companion can rejoice. Taito has announced preorders for Japanese consumers who want to get their hands on a plush version of LittleBigPlanet's main character.
You have two sizes to choose from: a mini Sackboy that is about 4 inches in height for about $12 USD or a larger 10 inch one for $23. The mini version will be released in November in Japan and come in the 4 varieties: normal, solider, pirate and smile. The larger version only comes in the normal or pirate versions and will be released in December. Each Sackboy is made of a soft material, so Sackboy doesn't actually feel like a sack when you try to cuddle with him.
Fortunately, we know Sackboy plushes are headed to the US as well. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

the texture is what makes them sackboys/girls. it's just not the same. i want one like the one from the media molecule blog post about it.

Those are FUGLY, and I agree lorddshadow it IS the texture that makes the Sackboy.

If you get something in the game for buying one im in. Otherwise it looks like something i could make out of cotton balls and pantie-hoes like i did in 5th grade art class

The ones up the top- the orangy/red ones- look ugly as. What a shame :(

the heads aren't even shaped right. if i walked past these somewhere maybe if they were real cheap as an impulse buy. i'd rather have something official.

I doubt these are officially licensed by Sony/MM. There's no way they would release sackboy's that ugly.

Horrible! They're supposed to be knitted!

Indeed.
Here's a pic of my home-made Sackboy (Mark I - Mark II is a darker brown and has a tongue and everything).

I was really looking forward to an official Sackboy plush but I think I'll stick with my own until something better comes along.

They have no neck! If they had a neck they would look so much better. but I like the ones at the top.

The one Brodie-san links to above it awesome too.
Why is that the homemade ones look a billion times better than those official ones?
Brodie-san @ Sep 4th 2008 8:07AM
Wait til you see Mark II!
The pic above is a "first attempt" and since then my mother has made some awesome improvements. Mark II even has wire going through his shoulders and arms so you can "position" him in poses and everything.
The darker wool also really makes a difference.
I'll post a pic when he's ready.

They forgot the secret ingredient: Love.

Cute! I want both a small one and a big one. I might crochet my own (agreed that the knitted look is much better), but I'm afraid of how it would turn out. Either way I can make outfits for her!
