White Knight Story tells its tale this December in Japan
We were getting worried about White Knight Story. The yummy PS3-exclusive RPG from Level-5 looked incredible ... but then it disappeared off everyone's radars since its last showing at TGS 2007. Looks like it's a lot farther along than any of us could've imagined, with the RPG getting a Japanese release later this year. Famitsu reports that White Knight Story will be available in Japan on December 11th, just in time for the holiday season.
We're eagerly awaiting TGS next month so we can get our grimey Western hands on the upcoming game. With the game nearing completion, we're hoping to be very impressed by what we see.

I'd love for them to announce the US release date for the same day or at least close. I'm starving for a PS3 RPG

it would be awesome if it's a worldwide release.
Averna @ Sep 4th 2008 8:01PM
Possible, but I doubt it. This baby is a first day purchase for me, been hanging out for it since it was announced.

More!! More please! :C
I recently took up playing FF7 for the first time ... and I love JRPGs now XD
whowhatme @ Sep 4th 2008 2:40PM
aren't ALL RPGs JRPGS?
Fane @ Sep 4th 2008 5:48PM
@whowhatme
No, JRPGs are all NOT RPGs; they're adventure games.
No "Role-Playing" involved at all.
Let the flaming begin.
BTW, I like JRPGs, except for the random battles.

Same here, dying for an RPG since Mass Effect (when I had a 360). Sports games can only hold me for so long. Plus there hasn't been any good action games since before the summer started (MGS4).

Dying for an RPG here also, last one was Mass Effect (when I had a 360). Sports games can only hold my interest for so long... the last action game was MGS4, and before that GTA4.

This game looks realy promising, plus the fact it's made by Level-5 should mean it won't disappoint.
There's quite a bit out there already, just not too much about what the story is actually about.
The battle system, from what I can see, seems a little like that of FF12 except you're controlling what you do a lot more although that's only what I could see from trailers.
Heard somewhere that there are suppose to be huge monsters kinda like in Shadow of Collossus which sounds great.
Hopefully the english localisation will be released soon after =]

what's TGS? is that like another E3 or Leipzig?
Devin @ Sep 4th 2008 2:27PM
Tokyo Game Show
Popfrogs @ Sep 4th 2008 4:43PM
Yeah, it's Japan's Leipzig. E3 doesn't deserve to be mentioned anymore, it's a crapfest.
Dahk @ Sep 4th 2008 2:53PM
Lol its probably Sony's biggest showing each year =). Let's hope they really deliver.
ryuk @ Sep 4th 2008 4:13PM

DrunkRaba @ Sep 4th 2008 8:00PM

deathberry @ Sep 6th 2008 11:05AM
WUT?
HanzoTheRazor @ Sep 4th 2008 10:41PM
Why do they call it W.K.Story when it's White Knight Chronicals? Anyway, WKC will be the biggest and best Jrpg that has been released on a HD console to date. I have been watching the preview here in Japan now for a year in stores and believe me, this game will ROCK! The budget is similar to FF13 and so too is the production. It reminds me of the anime Escoflone with its giant mech knights. A HUGE game and a must have for any Jrpg fan. Day 1 for me too. =)

According to Kotaku the issue of Famitsu in question says nothing of the sort, so the date is untrue until printed otherwise. :(
