Sting and Tool joining Guitar Hero: World Tour

Looks like Police frontman Sting will be joining the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Ozzy Osbourne in Guitar Hero: World Tour as an in-game avatar. Tool was also unveiled as a band that will contribute their songs, but not their likeness, to the game. The four newly announced songs are:

"Parabola" -- Tool
"Schism" -- Tool
"Vicarious" -- Tool
"Demolition Man" -- The Police

GH: World Tour will also feature a new "venue designed in collaboration with Tool and highlighting the art style that has become a staple in their music videos, live shows and album artwork." Excited? Is Sting past his prime? Would you rather have a Maynard James Keenan avatar?

I'm shocked!!! I never thought Tool would do anything like this. They don't sell music through mp3 stores or anything. My world has jsut been turned upside down.

You think tool actually owns the rights to their songs? I dare say it would be their record label's decision. Either way, it doesn't change the songs you are listening to. Do yourself a favour and put on AEnima, track 7.

And think for yourself...

Im seriously wondering why anyone would want to purchase the Guitar Hero series any longer, especially when something that has been proven to be better exists [Rock Band(2)]. Its a fad that hasn't died yet.

Look at GHIII! My God was that a disgrace to gaming. There are ADVERTISEMENTS littered EVERWHERE! From Axe body spray, to Pontiac, to Stride gum. That last one really set me off, considering that the Stride image came in an UPDATE to the game, so now the second main screen has it nicely posted there for your viewing pleasure. Im glad I paid a premium fee to see advertisements in my games. I thought thats what XBOX Live was for.

On top of that, there is the faulty online play. You can't pick to play with friends at all, and its only 1 vs. 1 battle.

Dude I'm just getting this game to play as Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne and Sting. Neversoft, please try to get Kurt Cobain as a playable character! My life would be complete if you do that!

Yeah really. Aenima is a classic. Everything else by Tool, although good, is not up to par with that Aenima.

That doesn't look like Sting at all. But still, Guitar Hero is slowly starting to sound sweeter (but still I prefer Rock Band).

Here's the entire list so far. The track list looks excellent except for two weird things. Beat It is on there which is cool but weird and Low. Why the hell is Low in the game?! Is it that hard to find a better song featuring Travis Barker? And when did they add Hotel California? I LOVE that song. If they had Led Zeppelin, it would be the ultimate music game.

I was on the fence trying to decide which to get. I already have RB1 and was going to stick with that because I have already built up songs and can import the RB1 music into RB2. Now that Tool is in Guitar Hero World Tour my decision is made for me. GHWT with Tool for the win.
