Our overseas readers may be interested by this offer. The Official PlayStation Magazine UK is offering a free Blu-ray game with a new subscription. The games are part of the Platinum lineup, and include hits like Uncharted, Resistance and Ratchet & Clank. The magazine also offers a free Blu-ray demo disc every issue. I already have a subscription to the U.S. version of the magazine and so far the past two issues have a Qore key code to download for free. Although, you have to buy the virtual episodes to get things like Beta application and a LBP theme (in issue three a think?). Why can't we have a Blu-Ray disc demo every month?!

Don't get carried away. It's £15.57 per three months and minimum subscription is 12 months, so that's £62.28 for a £15 game.

Still, if you get the 3 month subscription, you're essentially getting three free months of the magazine for buying a cheap game. Not bad at all. Hell, I almost bought Oblivion today, but I decided to wait a bit. This way I can get a game I was going to get anyway AND three magazines for the same price.
At least, that's what I'd be saying if I lived in the UK. XP

The type of idiot who would go for this deal reads "FREE GAME" and doesn't read on to find out that you only have a choice of one of these three games (Resistance, Ratchet, Uncharted).

Ugh, I signed up to the magazine the month before they were offering free blu-rays witha supscription. Now they're offering games? Shame.
Also to all the people who are complaining about blu-ray disc demos. the only thing they contain are demos that are fairly recent but as its a monthly magazine, all the demos are available online well before they come out in the mag. However they do have a few demos that aren't available on the store such as GH:Aerosmith and a few PSN game trials. The only good thing about them is you can delete the demo data and still have it on discs.

I hope for your sake Sony gives you a free game :)
But it's not hard to understand that this deal is likely to be put forward to scrape up "new" subscribers.

Well I've been subscribed for years, switching over to the PS3 mag when it was out. They gave out PS2 games at one point but I missed it, and now I doubt my loyalty is going to be rewarded.
Anybody have any info on existing subscribers?

unfortunately those Blu-Ray discs can only be played in PAL coded machines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pal)an not on North American PS3 :( I bought the mag last week and was really disappointed to find it won't work... just to let you guys know

@ daniel, same boat as you, though I was lucky enough to get Tekken Tag back in the day. Anyway, I hope my subscription is ending soon, but on the upside, the next issue will come with a special LBP present as they have promised! (+ the review)

Just subscribed with this deal. It's a shame the only game out of the platinum's that I don't already own was heavenly sword.
Still, I've been wanting to subscribe anyway and the free game is just a bonus.

it's not as good a deal as it looks, the minimum subscription contract is 12 months, so you're actually paying £60 for a load of magazines and a game.
