Deal: 8GB Memory Stick for $46
As Memory Sticks continue to get larger, their prices continue to get smaller. This is a fantastic deal on an almost-insane amount of memory for your PSP. The 8GB Memory Stick can be found at buy.com for $46, shipped. That's more than enough space to hold every single game to be released by D3 Publisher on the PLAYSTATION Store.

^ImWithStupid^ @ Sep 8th 2008 9:20PM
Watch when psp becomes obsolete :) thats when the price is gonna go down to 20$. I might buy it then but i already own two 4 gigs so not much of apoint for me...
andwhyisit @ Sep 8th 2008 10:43PM
Are you kidding? The 8gb card has been around for a long time now.
@^ImWithStupid^: The MS pro duo cards are also used for cameras. So no death-of-PSP price drop for you.
Christopher @ Sep 9th 2008 8:00AM
@andwhyisit
Yeah, SONY cameras which aren't exactly market leaders, so whoohoo. You don't see them being advertised for cameras, but you do see them advertised for PSPs.
^ImWithStupid^ @ Sep 9th 2008 3:24PM
was about to say the same thing Christoper said lol. Also there are alot of deals with an 8 gig free with a phone so u can bet on the price dropping even more when the memory sticks wont be needed for psp. ( If it ever does happen, knowing Sony it will happen)

Wow... I remember when it was $120 when it was on sale a year ago...
daniel-kun @ Sep 9th 2008 2:37AM
I bought a 2GB stick for that price... and a year later a 4GB for the same. :/
Alex @ Sep 8th 2008 9:38PM
I went this route - purchased a micro SD to MS Pro Duo Memory Stick adapter for less than 10$ on ebay, so I can use the same micro SD cards my phone & camera uses... micro sd cards have been cheap for a while - and it's a standard format.
Christopher @ Sep 9th 2008 5:53PM
I have one of those, but haven't used it with my PSP yet. How does the speed compare to a standard MSpro stick?
burandon @ Sep 8th 2008 10:52PM
Awesome deal. For anyone that wants, if you cut and paste

you get an extra 5% off (taken from retailmenot.com). It didn't work for me in IE, but worked like a charm in Firefox. Just if anyone's interested.
Justin @ Sep 10th 2008 7:15AM
Yeah Nice but i Already have the 16gb
RodeoChihuahua @ Sep 9th 2008 12:56AM
Order placed :) I missed out on the 4 gb for $20 last week. I will take a 8gb anyday.
aj @ Sep 9th 2008 3:16AM
Tempting, but Shoppers has 1GB cards for 9.99$ this week. I just bought a bunch of those.
And 8GB card is nice, but a whole bunch of 1GB cards works out the same.
If you're Canadian - hit up Shoppers for cheap memory.

Eight 1GB cards @ $9.99 = $79.92

LM2007 @ Sep 9th 2008 11:22AM
very sad, they don't ship to Puerto Rico, shame on them. Well, Fry's, time to give us a similar offer: )
Lulu @ Sep 9th 2008 5:29PM
I just caved and bought myself one. Since I missed out on the other when it was on sale.
n8.nXt @ Sep 9th 2008 5:45PM
bought it this morning!
devitek @ Sep 9th 2008 6:35PM
Yeah, I ordered 2 of those 4GB last month from buy.com and didn't get them until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I think I'll just wait until these legitimately come down in price with someplace like newegg.
Besides, 16GB is what we all really want. When those are $40, I'll buy...just not from buy.com.h
andwhyisit @ Sep 9th 2008 9:10PM
I don't care what price they are, as long as the stores decide to start selling them. I can't find a 16gig pro duo ANYWHERE! *bangs head on desk*
LM2007 @ Sep 10th 2008 10:23AM
andwhyisit, i think there's no pure pro duo 16GB yet, but you can buy an Micro SD card and the proper adapter to make it compatable with the psp.

Thanks guys! I just bought this yesterday, and it's on its way to me now. I had a 10% off coupon, so that helped, too.
Actually, I purchased my new PSP 2000, this memory card, and a copy of GTA Vice City Stories from Buy.com based on this article. I just sold my iPod touch, and was going to pick up the new model iPod touch when I saw this and said, "You know what? Everything I need to do on the iPod touch, I can do on the PSP for less money, and as a bonus it will work with my PS3."
This isn't my first PSP. Back when they launched the PSP, I was the lucky winner of one of the first phats to roll off the line at 1UP.com-- And I liked it, but back then, in the PSP's first year, it was all potential but little use to me. I'm not a homebrew guy, so I eventually sold it.
I got another PSP phat a year later. Still didn't like it. The PSP Store had nothing. The games were so-so, and the firmware was still not doing everything it does now.
Third PSP a charm? Nope. I kept it for about a day, but realized it was too fat, and the memory sticks were too expensive for it to replace my iPod quite yet. No PS3 meant no extra incentive to keep it.
Now, I'm awaiting my first PS3 (MGS bundle SHOULD be on its way to me, if the eBay seller didn't rip me off) and I decided that it was time to jump in and try the PSP-2000 instead of an iPod.
So thanks, guys. Buy.com and Sony owe Andrew Yoon a debt of gratitude for getting me back into the PSP camp, and with an 8GB stick, I'm doing it in style.
