New LittleBigPlanet trailer shows Sackboys in the wild
How do you know a game is near to completion? Trailers, mostly. Lots and lots of trailers. They've been coming thick and fast for the last couple of months and today another has been released via the PlayStation Blog. This latest trailer takes the form of a faux wildlife documentary (though we can't decide whether it's meant to be a piss take of Steve Irwin or Bill Oddie). This is the first in a series of trailers, in which the Sackboy is discussed and, through that, various aspects of the games are shown. This trailer would be perfect for movie theaters as it gets the idea of the game across very well and is genuinely amusing. We're very much looking forward to the next one.

That's just a really bad New Zealand accent :)
Its not Bill Oddie or Steve Irwin that's for sure.
Jake @ Sep 9th 2008 7:12PM
i would say steve because bill doesn't sound Australian lol
Ashmen @ Sep 9th 2008 7:22PM
Couldn't help saying "ouch" out loud when she hit him with the frying pan.

playcrackthesky @ Sep 9th 2008 7:35PM
Perfect trailer. They really need to get it out there. Like everywhere, no jokes. Kid's movies, whatever.
BTW I'm Australian, and that does not sound like an aussie to me...
DamnBoxes @ Sep 9th 2008 7:44PM

I think this game looks good, but honestly that this trailer didn't look very good, it made it look stupid.
Mike @ Sep 9th 2008 9:36PM
lMFAO
Hayden @ Sep 9th 2008 10:37PM
I'm a New Zealander, and to me that sounds like a New Zealander trying to put on an Aussie accent. It's not quite one or the other.
This trailer is a good fun take on the game that relates well to the non-hardcore gamer. They really need to get this out into the mainstream media.
Lars @ Sep 10th 2008 12:27PM
Yeah, the two are totally different. NZ sounds like "where's the cah?" and Aussies sound like "where's the cah?"
ryan @ Sep 10th 2008 12:47PM
and people from Maine, USA are like "where's the cah?"
Hayden @ Sep 11th 2008 3:40AM
Well, it's like the difference between the US & Canada...they sound pretty identical to me.
Lars @ Sep 11th 2008 3:18PM
I guess nobody here knows Flight of the Conchords...
d stapes @ Sep 9th 2008 11:08PM
i wonder if that was a purposeful power up mushroom at the beginning. i thought side scrolling fun as soon as i saw it.
i bought my ps3 for this game. i am way pumped.
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread) @ Sep 9th 2008 11:29PM

j.howlett @ Sep 10th 2008 10:20AM
my only concern is i wanted to try a level right to left. it still might be possible.
John @ Sep 10th 2008 10:40AM
This game is so totally a Wii killer.
Jon @ Sep 10th 2008 11:28AM
Totally?
Never gonna happen. It's way too "complicated" for the Wii's demographic.
Lars @ Sep 11th 2008 3:26PM
Woah, it's John vs Jon here!
But Jon is kinda right. The Wii appeals to a broad audience who just want to be part of the new fad. Not that everyone who buys a Wii is like that, but I believe that's why it's so overwhelmingly popular. Case in point: I have a Wii and I'm probably considered a hardcore gamer, but also my mom has a Wii (and never uses it) but she just bought it because it was trendy and everyone is talking about it. Myself and my Mom both bought Wii's for very different reasons. Had I not already bought a PS3, I would just for this game. I can't imagine my mom doing that... she doesn't even know what a platformer is.
PS: Why no "download to PSP" link? I LOVE that feature, and I'm dying to add this vid to my collection :)
mattsparks @ Sep 10th 2008 11:25AM
So what is this game all about?
It seems like Animal Crossing with Furbies?
farfisa @ Sep 10th 2008 1:02PM
I have to say the narration was (even more) disappointing when I was half expecting Stephen Fry--I mean it's getting close enough that he could be doing commercials too, right?
