Final Fantasy IV characters join Dissidia ranks

The character countdown is almost over now, people. With the confirmation of Cecil and Golbez as Final Fantasy IV's respective light and darkness ambassadors, we now know the identities of most Dissidia alumni. Final Fantasies I through IV and VIII through X are now complete, while villains for VI and VII have also been revealed.

All that's really left is to figure out who the heroes of VII (no-brainer really ... unless a Caith Sith surprise is in store) and VI (more difficult to gauge considering characters shared the spotlight equally) are. That, and what's the fate of V -- in or not? Lots of conflicting reports on that one so we'll wait and see. Maybe TGS is the time to get those last inkling details before the big release this December.

I noticed Garland's similarity, but not warrior of light's, until you told me.... Imagine those combos fighting......

yeah its obvious cloud will represent ff7 but you know my friend keeps saying they wont have cloud but zack instead. he even says angeal will be in it. what a fool

Not so, with Crisis Core and Before Crisis, we might get any of the followings as light representants

1.- Tseng (Head of the turks)
2.- Angeal
3.- Aeris (Yeah, i can see her fighting Killik (from Soul Calibur) style)
4.- Zack
5.- Tifa
6.- Vincent

They all have a strong relationship with Sephirot, specially Aeris and Angeal. Not as strong as Cloud, but please, leave the man whip on a corner alone already!!!!

1.- Tseng - I doubt this. Tseng is more important than Cloud now?

2.- Angeal - He wasn't even playable.

3.- Aeris - Aside form the SoulCalibur comment... Really? They'd pick Aerith over Cloud?

4.- Zack - Already had a PSP game, and Sephiroth wasn't even the main villain.

5.- Tifa - She has little to nothing to do with Sephiroth.

6.- Vincent - His enemy was Hojo mostly. Also why represent an almost universally hated game?

7. Genesis - He was the bad guy. And, well... Even though he became good, I seriously doubt they would completely ignore the original Final Fantasy VII and just concentrate on the little moments Sephiroth and Genesis were together.

Mark my words, it's Cloud. If it's not, I sacrifice my internet account on every website I've ever been on.

Final Fantasy 3 was more likely what Final Fantasy 1 and 3 were, not a very centric story besides the crystals.

Still, I can only hope we get Lenna or Faris appears, but i'm pretty sure will be Bartz doing the appearance. Now that I think about it, man, Bartz was lucky, he was the only male on his party at the end of the game, xD

Heck even Genesis might be as a hero (since he's now the protector of the earth), Angeal had connections to sephiroth too, but they Zack has more chance than they both. Who knows maybe there's going to be some secret characters, hmm ;D? Vincent might be a candidate too, he share something with Sephiroth, though not intact, but there's something they share, can't just put fingers on it.

I chuckled at the Cait Sith comment. I am replaying FFVII right now and I absolutely hated the first part where they made me use him in my party. My least favorite FF Character ever. So useless.

Glad to see that Cecil still has his Dark Knight form. Without it he's just another warrior of light. I hope they pick Terra for 6 I want play as a girl in a fighting game, I'm pro Chun-li. Even though I know that Cloud will be for 7, I still wish it was Zack. Zack actually knew Sephiroth appose to Cloud who only though he knew him. And people need to stop knocking Bartz! He was in a party with all girls. All they have to do for Bartz is put him in a purple suit and he's ready for Dissidia!

I think it's cloud mainly because of what sephiroth says in the new trailer.
here is what he says:
"The despair you desire, shall i give it to you?"
Then he says - "After all, you're just a puppet"
obvious references to FFVII and AC
Maybe he's talking to someone else maybe not, and besides he has a lot more history with Cloud than the others, at least in terms of hating each other..

1UP stating that one FF was out of Dissidia was a lie - which they admitted, and V hasn't got the boot, check out the 3rd trailer when the villains come out of the lava wall - there are 10 of them, which Golbez and Exdeath are standing side-by-side with each other.

Cloud will be in Dissidia, no doubt - though I wish Zack was in... it's always been Cloud and Sephiroth, and i've gotten sick of all that crap...

Terra or Celes is in Dissidia, since in the 3rd trailer shows a white-cloaked Female on the far left with red dots on the bottom of her cape - like Terra's Amano artwork.

And Bartz is in - his hand was in the scene where a close-up of the heroes during the end accured.

I'm pretty sure they showed the shadow of Exdeath in the last trailer Square Enix released towards the end.

Assuming that this game does get released in North America, which we're still waiting for unfortunately, I hope there's an option to download characters as additional game-add ons. I think that would be a neat idea, i.e., the game has a set amount of characters and then as the months progress, special characters from FF series get released to download through the PSN.

Now to sit back and wait to see if North America (you know, those people who dont seem to matter lately in the PSP game side when compared to Japan) will get this release.

PS - Yes I know you can import it which I will be doing if it doesnt get a release, but I'd suspect that the vast majority of people out there dont/cant import for whatever reason.

I think it would be interesting that if you have a Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions or Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII save file you could be able to unlock characters like Ramza, Delita, and Zack.

Yeah, that'd be a great feature. Was thinking about it for SSBB on Wii, perhaps as a pack-in bundle for an HDD-carrying model. Whenever DFF gets here, perhaps bonus characters would be pre-loaded on a PSP-bundled memory card.

Well, considering the fact in the Promo Video, you can see FFVI's Terra's hand and feminine figure, I'd say she's the FFVI chara.

FFVII: it will definitely cloud. you can bet he'll be the light side messiah in the trailers to come. he's practically the poster boy of FF.

FFVI: it better be terra. celes would be boring in-game. at least esper morph could be used for interesting stuff.

FFV: i hope they don't leave them out. I never played any FF before VI so I would like to get to know their mains at least.

Come on guys!!! If you see close enough the DK trailer you'll see two girls silouettes... And I have a hard feeling that one of those is for Aerith and the other one might be from Celes or Terra as well... But we just have to wait and see.

Just double checked and I do see two female silhouettes. One with a dress or cape on the far left and another one with pants and a feminine body five people from the right or four people from the left. although the second female might just be cloud since he is short and feminine looking.

From the right it goes Squall, Frioniel, Zidane, Warrior of Light, Cecil?, Female figure/Cloud?, Tidus, Bartz?, Onion Knight,and Terra?.

I have to say, someone's comment about FF:Tactics is spot-on. I'd love to see Ramza and Delita in the game. Doubtful it will happen at this point. But maybe a sequel.

And speaking of sequels, how about an FF:Tactics II? Take a look at what Sega's doing with Valkeryia Chronicles, Squeenix. Now make with the imitation.
