Jeopardy! comes! to! PS3! tomorrow!
Jeopardy!'s first video trailer came out of nowhere. And now, the game is making a stealthy surprise attack on the PLAYSTATION Store. The downloadable quiz game will be available on PSN tomorrow for $14.99. The SOE-developed game promises over 2500 clues and categories for play in online and offline multiplayer games. There'll also be expansions available in 2009. However, Trophy fanatics -- don't get too excited. Although there's a built-in rewards system, you will not be unlocking any XMB Trophies with this one.
However, there is some hope for a patch in the future: "Wheel of Fortune will feature XMB Trophies and we will look at patching JEOPARDY for XMB Trophies at a later date."

Dahk @ Sep 10th 2008 6:33PM
I want trophies on this puppy! I think it'd actually encourage some good random knowledge of the world. People racing to be SMARTER than the other for once? Heh.
Si @ Sep 10th 2008 6:41PM

JerusalemFunkFactory @ Sep 11th 2008 7:21AM
You realy havent heard of that show?
its one of the most popular gameshows in the history. and not only in US. the show's concept has been sold to many many countrys thourghout the world. even the Hebrew version here was quite succesfull.
the PSN just getting better and better. 15$ for this one sounds pretty fair to me.
Autopsy15 @ Sep 10th 2008 10:42PM
Ya, right after Wheel of Fortune, duh. Cause if he didn't know what Jeopardy was then he'll definitely know what Wheel of Fortune is.
The1stMJC @ Sep 10th 2008 7:03PM
I will buy when trophy patch hits and if they make this HOME compatible. For whenever that comes out
Jeffrey Stratton @ Sep 10th 2008 7:17PM
Jibber Jabber if you honestly believe McCain is Bush #2 then you're the idiot. Well I guess you've already proven you can't read between the lines with that Jeopardy remark.
Autopsy15 @ Sep 10th 2008 10:45PM
I believe voting with Bush 90% pretty much makes him Bush. And the fact that if you look at Bush's acceptance speech from 2000 and then look at John McCain's acceptance speech, you might see just a FEW similarities.
(Hint: They're IDENTICAL)
Haohmaru @ Sep 10th 2008 11:29PM
LOLITICS. Yeah, let's just stick to talking about games.
sinai @ Sep 10th 2008 7:31PM
2500 questions at 60 clues per game means very few games without repeats. that sucks for online play because there will be jackasses who have already answered all the questions a billion times before you have.
and i assume they're going to do rock-band-like question packs for $5.99? that makes me sad.
DarkLeaper @ Sep 10th 2008 8:39PM
Below me.
Greg Pace @ Sep 10th 2008 8:58PM
Fail.
Should just be in home.
p.flynn2 @ Sep 10th 2008 10:13PM
i agree... 2500 clues is not that many at all. i would only buy this if the expansion packs came out on a regular basis and were pretty cheap ~$3.
A better idea would be for them to take the archived questions from the real show, host them online and every time you start the game you get a random selection of categories... perhaps do it MMO style. The game is free to download with a few hundred bundled clues and you pay $3/month for clue access.
This would be a great game for non-gamers to get into. Who doesnt try to compete in their living room with their friends whenever this show is on?
would anyone else be willing to pay for a pricing structure like that?
Iain @ Sep 11th 2008 12:16AM
My dad would. I think if done right this could be a huge hit for jeopardy fans. Have an advertisement for this on jeopardy.. cha-ching
whoiscraig @ Sep 11th 2008 3:15AM
$14.99 for 2500 MULTIPLE CHOICE questions? That's not Jeopardy!, it's a flash game with character creation. The questions already exist so I can't see how you can charge for additional content when the programming basically entails typing.
kentuckyfried @ Sep 11th 2008 3:56AM
The billion dollar question is...will Alex Trebek be featured in the game? I didn't see him at all in the trailer.
Jeopardy without Alex is like a PB&J sandwich without the peanut butter...
Frostfox @ Sep 11th 2008 7:15AM
This looks like it could be real fun to play. I might actually pick this title up.
Rahabib @ Sep 11th 2008 11:36AM
isnt this going to be multiple guess (ie you choose between 4 answers). If it is dont get it.
GGCAN @ Sep 11th 2008 2:03PM
I'll be picking this one up for sure.
Mukey @ Sep 11th 2008 2:37PM
What good are trophies if no one is including them in the release of their games? I don't care about Stardust HD at all, post release trophy support is a joke
mang @ Sep 11th 2008 3:18PM
wheres the game already? im waiting all day for this shiz.
