A new news item has been posted on the official
BioShock website,
The Cult Of Rapture. It's short and sweet and says only what we need to know. That being the date when we can expect to grab a vertical slice of the upcoming atmosphere-em-up,
BioShock. The demo will be made available (worldwide, no less) on October the 2nd. So you don't have too long to wait before you adventure in Rapture begins. And to think that this time last year we were to-ing and fro-ing between
rumors that the game was coming PS3wards and developers who
swore it wasn't. We're glad that PS3 owners get an opportunity to experience one of the most impressive games of 2007, even if it is a year later.

Cool, now I can decide if they actually made the game look/play better w/o having to rent/buy it...sweet

What is with the Home logo on the box art? Is there some kind of Home integration?

that's actually not the real PS3 cover. the real one looks quite tame IMO:

i don't care for the little sister's glowing eyes and the stiff 2 dimensional poses.

something always bothered me about this game:
*Slight Spoilers*
i remember playing the 360 demo and wondering "Why the hell did my character just plunge a foreign syringe into his hand?".
after playing through the full game, i still don't know what drove him to do such a "stupid" thing like that.
even if something like that would give you super powers, you just don't rush into a choice like that without some prior info first.
that and the ending being lame always bothered me i mean. the rest of the game is pretty cool, if not a bit repetitive.

They explain why you inject yourself like that with the reveal in the middle of the game.
ryan @ Sep 12th 2008 2:53PM
hmm, that totally blew right over me i guess. still seemed odd how eager he was to do it.

I am also curious as to what the Home logo on the boxart means...
Metal_Gear @ Sep 12th 2008 2:03PM
That there will be a link with Home, more than likely a room dedicated to Bioshock and things you do ingame (Trophies) unlock Bioshock stuff to use in Home, clothing and/or furniture and so on.
With LBP being pushed back to October and Bioshock having strong Home connections, it makes me wonder if they are fighting to get Home out in October too...
eric @ Sep 12th 2008 6:37PM
why does it stand home there ?
will it be compatabl whit home?
AlterEgo @ Sep 12th 2008 2:01PM
That's not the final boxart.
Berto @ Sep 12th 2008 2:49PM
that home logo on the cover is hot....
Jeremy @ Sep 12th 2008 3:15PM
Really wasn't all that hyped about this game, but now that it's getting closer I'm thinking about looking into it. Plus that sexy Home logo is nice........

woo, my birthday, still debating on whether or not I want to pick this game up
Dave @ Sep 15th 2008 3:57PM
I wonder if home will be out by the time this game is released since the cover will have the home logo.
