Fallout 3 survival edition is completely sold out
Do you remember that special set for Fallout 3 that included a life-sized Pip-Boy replica? Did you want one? Well that's too bad, because they're all sold out. Retailer Amazon, the only place to get it, notified Bethesda Softworks that the PS3 version of the Survival Edition had completely sold out. Judging by the way those things were selling, you'd think people were stocking up ... getting ready for some sort of catastrophe or something. While the hardcore of the hardcore enjoy their Pip-Boys, the rest of you who

That's what I get for waiting :/
DeforMAKulizer @ Sep 13th 2008 3:09PM
Glad to see the PS3 version doing this good... Hope Bethesda didn't underestimate the PS3... =D
duckhunt8 @ Sep 13th 2008 6:35PM
Amazon is known to sell PS3s like mad compared to 360s. Just check out the top 100 list.
I'm not surprised in the least about this info.
Sushidrew @ Sep 13th 2008 3:21PM
I think I'll pick up my copy when they release the trophies. What do you guys think?
Packfan @ Sep 13th 2008 3:37PM
I'm in the same boat. I'd rather be playing games that reward me somehow with trophies. Bethesda hasn't supported the PS3 very well and I hope the overall sales show our displeasure, but I'll support them when they decide to say "eh, we didn't want to do trophies, but we MIGHT patch it EVENTUALLY".
And yes, I'm starting to get addicted to trophies, but only because I'm hoping that our level is somehow related to what we can do in Home or something along those lines.
sirpilf @ Sep 13th 2008 4:28PM
why do trophies matter to you? i know they can be fun to achieve but really, its not a big deal, if the game is a good game just play it!
there are some people on the playstation forums that actually go as far as saying they wont play a game if it doesnt have trophies and would rather play a game that is boring and repetitive.... literally thats what i heard, because the "boring repetitive" game has trophies, i believe he was talkin about PJE.
Justin @ Sep 13th 2008 4:19PM
Wow, people like you guys would have been screwed back in the 80s and 90s when we played video games for FUN.
"I'd rather be playing games that reward me somehow with trophies."
Get off your butt and play a sport then. Sheesh.
Kholar @ Sep 13th 2008 4:35PM
You guys shouldn't be blasting someone just because they prefer a different type of fun.
Patrick @ Sep 13th 2008 4:37PM
Justin, I'd slap you on the wrist for being so harsh if I weren't so busy laughing.
Edmeist @ Sep 13th 2008 4:44PM
And to think that Bethesda could't show the PS3 some DLC love......maybe theyll pull their heads out of their asses and give a little sumthin' sumthin' after seeing this.
kentuckyfried @ Sep 14th 2008 7:23PM
This morning, I was thinking of how funny it would be if Bethesda made this announcement: "the ps3 isn't getting any DLC b/c it's already on the blu-ray disc. 360 owners will have to download it b/c it couldn't fit on the DVD and we weren't about to increase the package to 3-4 DVD's b/c of licensing royalties to Microsoft."
It wouldn't happen, but I'd be tickled if it did.
Tomheivers @ Sep 13th 2008 5:26PM
Great, Europe deserves to die without pip-boys :(
Sushidrew @ Sep 13th 2008 5:32PM
Justin: I thought your message was funny, and I somewhat agree with you. I've been playing games since I was a kid, and I do remember how much fun it is back then, and nothing will ever compare to how fun the Famicom was for me (I'm Japanese/Caucasian).
PS: I play all sorts of sports but I'm not going to brag about anything.
Sushidrew @ Sep 13th 2008 5:33PM
Oh, sorry for the double post, but the only reason I'm playing for trophies is because I'm competing with a friend of mine. But that's about it, I don't have other people to share/brag trophies with.
Pixeldaemon @ Sep 13th 2008 5:40PM
Eh, this does not say much. Most stores(including online) order less PS3 versions then do 360 versions(yes, I know from experience). We don't know how many PS3 versions they ordered but my guess is it was probably less then the 360 counterpart.
JaseH @ Sep 13th 2008 6:46PM
Oh, so Pixel, based on a store or two you've been to, you suddenly know how each and every store operates?
All stores order the same amount of titles on both next-generation consoles. Stores still bother ordering original Xbox games these days. Even though that console is nowFTL.
The PS3 is selling well every month, and the attach rate on most games are high, there's no denying PS3 gamers don't buy their titles when it counts, and typically big name titles like Fallout 3 aren't short changed when it comes down to any system available.
I should know, I've worked in a few.

What are you smoking Pixel? All stores don't order the same amount for every console, that would just be idiotic business.
However, in this case in particular I doubt that they had many (if any) less PS3 versions than 360 versions. PS3's, PS3 games, and blu-rays sell very well on Amazon.
Arnon @ Sep 14th 2008 12:10AM
It's freakin' Amazon! Who cares! XD.. People treat the site like it's more important than the NPD's.
PSN: Puselva @ Sep 13th 2008 9:36PM
Any word on how the PS3 version is selling compared to the 360 version? Did they sell out of the 360 version as well?
mgsrocks1 @ Sep 13th 2008 11:40PM
@ Majed
People are stocking up in case the LHC device the scientists built creates a black hole. They can use the game as a guide to surviving it!
Waqman @ Sep 14th 2008 9:32AM
The LCH device won't create a black hole. That shite is unfounded. Anyways I can't wait for this game. I'm delaying Motorstorm 2 just to play this game (aswell as LBP, and Resistance 2 a week later).
ryan @ Sep 14th 2008 2:12PM
it's still pretty odd how they don't have trophies for day one.
