I honestly can't believe someone likes Torchwood.
But tastes differ I guess, I just never thought they differed that much.

Torchwood is OK but not for the price they are asking for it. I'd rather get Pushing Daisies.
Jon Acheson @ Sep 15th 2008 10:07AM
I can't believe he called Torchwood "dark and realistic" instead of "sophomoric and cheezy."
Seriously, it's like the love child of the BBC and MTV.

sicklesdawg @ Sep 15th 2008 12:34AM

Speed Racer really, really, really got the shaft from reviewers, which is a shame.
ill trooper @ Sep 15th 2008 1:17AM
I think more than a few people are going to watch it and not hate it as much as they expected after hearing the reviews. I thought it was great - very much in the spirit of the cartoon, and surreal. Really weird movie.
This will be the movie you see this fall in all the TV departments in BestBuy, etc. to move HDTVs and Blu-Ray players - it's nuts looking and the colors pop out of control.
Deadpool @ Sep 15th 2008 5:33AM
Well...if I remember the Speed Racer cartoon correctly, I don't remember it being set in Willy Wonkas chocolate factory or a candy coated future. I'm pretty sure it was set in the 60's, which is where it should have stayed. Don't get me wrong! I love the cartoon show, but when Hollywood rears its ugly head at anime franchises...the results are baaaaad. I mean reaaaaly baaad.
Everytime I see news about the DragonBall movie I die a little inside. It's like they're trying to drive me crazy about how wrong it is! Maybe I can find that monkey who played Chimchim in Speed Racer and train him to throw his crap at the screen everytime he sees Justin Chadwit.
Hashbrown Hunter @ Sep 15th 2008 9:20AM
I agree with Deadpool that some of these adaptations of classic shows totally destroy any sort of nostalgia you had, BUT I did enjoy Speed Racer (besides every scene with the fat kid and the monkey) and the story was actually a lot more complex and interesting than you believe at a glance. I do think that they did go overboard with the CGI in some scenes like the final race (which had me very close to puking) and the kung-fu was sorta tame. But Matthew Fox redeemed the movie for me. Really great performance.
So I enjoyed it for what it was, and I expect others to do no less. But watching it on Blu-Ray will totally f**k your vision for a couple hours!

I liked Speed Racer because they did the one thing I wanted: maintained the camera perspectives and luscious curves of the car just like the cartoon did, which made me swoon when I was 5. Buying ASAP.

WHY put that GOD FORSAKEN Speed Racer movie as the cover pic???
lol
I woulda rather seen "Hulk" there.......
theoneneo81 @ Sep 15th 2008 8:26AM
I think The Hulk Sucked more imo rember this is the ang lee hulk
The Aggie CEO @ Sep 15th 2008 9:33AM
yea I know its that one.......
Thats why I said I'd RATHER see that one there because its just as bad.......lol......
but I guess I just didnt like how they put all those seizure causing colors in Speed Racer for NO reason.........sure it looks good in HD but thats that what Speed Racer was like.......
Waqman @ Sep 15th 2008 1:24PM
I've proved my point. These two retards above me. Bashing Ang Lee's Hulk and saying its as bad as Speed Racer.
HardBoiled @ Sep 15th 2008 8:30AM
88 Minutes with Pacino is suppose to come out tomorrow isn't it .. you figure Blu-Ray would be released with it the DVD copy as well
HardBoiled @ Sep 15th 2008 8:31AM
sorry i just realized 88 minutes their now .. gahh .. don't mind me haha
Bad Mojo @ Sep 15th 2008 9:20AM
Is it "The Love Guru- Somebody Please Buy This Crap Movie" Edition? Or is it just the regular suck version?
j.howlett @ Sep 15th 2008 1:20PM
1408 is my pick this week.
Waqman @ Sep 15th 2008 1:23PM
Its too bad that the Ang Lee Hulk is hated so much. It was miles beyond anything I saw in the new shitty Hulk movie with Norton, God even Norton tried to distance himself from that garbage before it came out. Note to everybody: When a filmmaker tries something different its bound to piss off alot of idiots. Hell I'm still surprised that The Dark Knight did so good, regular audiences aren't the type to like THAT kind of comic book movie.
Anyways, all that ranting leads to just one statement. I'm buying Hulk on BluRay....anybody else?
KarlW @ Sep 15th 2008 6:56PM
How long does it take to get Apollo 13 on Blu-Ray?!
Khaled @ Sep 20th 2008 12:21AM
Yes! Hello Selena Gomez!
