The Eye of Judgment Set 3 coming, adds Trophies
The Eye of Judgment continues to expand. The revolutionary Eye-enabled card game will get its second expansion pack on October 16th. Biolith Rebellion Set 3 will add 100 new cards to EoJ. Once again, players will have to purchase the expansion on the PS Store, in addition to new cards that will make their way to retail stores.
With Biolith Rebellion Set 3, the total number of cards goes up to 310. Set 3 will also enable other content, such as XMB Trophy support, and a "set of new abilities that encourage more tactical playing based on creature formation." Set 3 will also add some background bonus material.
[Thanks, Will S.!]

What in the Jazzy Jeff is that camera thing?
bak @ Sep 15th 2008 11:11AM
I love that phrase and am going to steal it now. That made me laugh...
And this is a great card game if you really don't know what it's about see http://www.eyeofjudgment.com

I enjoy EoJ from time to time, but its sensitivity to light conditions do manage to irritate me from time to time. Often end up stoping to play earlier than planned due to the diminishing amount of light coming from outside causing me to have big trouble getting my cards recognized. Tried buying a little spotlight lamp, but that didn't help much at all as it just caused to much reflection on the cards and thus the camera where not able to identify them.
Good to see trophy support added though.
Juthan @ Sep 15th 2008 4:38PM
Glad to hear I am not the only one with such lighting problems. The game is fun, but the lightning issue makes it almost unbearable to play.
Averna @ Sep 15th 2008 9:27PM
No kidding. I actually use my wife's photography lightning kit, with the test bulbs on, to play.
Im going to have to dig up my play mat now, I seem to have lost it in our last move.
Stefan @ Sep 18th 2008 4:11AM
Try to use the fixed lighting conditions, rather than the automatic. I had problems with the automatic setting until I found out that "white/dark" works great for daylight, and "warm/dark" works fine for the artificial lights I have. It is sort of sensitive, but by no means impossible to get it to work more or less flawless.
chimaera9 @ Sep 15th 2008 10:52AM
Awesome! I love this game! I'm really looking forward to set 3, though my wallet is not...
chimaera9 @ Sep 15th 2008 10:54AM
Regarding light issues, I've found that if you aim the light up at the ceiling instead of down at the cards, and also adjust your settings in the game for the dimmer light setting, you'll have no problem.
hurricane @ Sep 15th 2008 10:58AM
Now if only I could get enough desk space to play this game...
Popfrogs @ Sep 15th 2008 12:03PM
Hahha, no doubt, any time I want to play EoJ I have to take into consideration the 15 minute set up and calibration time along with positioning lights.
I usually end up playing Warhawk instead. Great little game, it's a shame they haven't made anything similar like a strategy game with little army men with bar codes or tanks, battleships, etc.
Archon @ Sep 15th 2008 11:21AM
Hell yes!
NotoriousJnX @ Sep 15th 2008 11:26AM
I got EoJ at 1/2 price and actually enjoyed playing it for awhile, I got it more for the camera since some future games (Little Big Planet!) are supposed to start using the camera to port over skins and/or map your face to characters. I've had trouble tracking down additonal decks that's not online, so all I've had is the starter deck and booster pack the game came with-on the normal difficulty setting it's kind of hard to defeat the comp. Might give this expansion a go.
Popfrogs @ Sep 15th 2008 2:36PM
Actually the designers have said that the starter deck can beat the computer on the hardest settings and should be able to pwn people online also.
It's all in the tactics. I had trouble believing this before until I won 5 online matches using the starter against people with crazy 10+ mana cards. While they're skipping turns saving up for their mega attack, I'm dropping 1 mana scrimpers all over the map.
Lionhart617 @ Sep 15th 2008 12:04PM
Anyone who has a copy printer can earn all the trophies.
Spazgadget @ Sep 15th 2008 2:32PM
Um, this isn't at all true.
First, we don't even know what the trophies are yet.
Second, you can't simply make copies of cards and be good at the game (nor do I know a single person who has done this). The game has rules, and one can't just copy a bunch of cards and win.
matt @ Sep 15th 2008 12:06PM
Do want, but won't buy until they add a Story mode. Needs more story mode. Don't tell me it can't be done.
Trophies are nice I guess, as long as they aren't "buy x card from expansion y" because that would be lame.
Miles @ Sep 15th 2008 3:58PM
So we'll still have to PAY ten bucks for the game update itself, without cards, once again? Cards are already way too expensives.
The game is good, but I've never felt such a cash cow before.
mewoks @ Sep 15th 2008 6:49PM
No no, you won't have to pay 10 bucks at all...you'll have to pay FIFTEEN dollars just for a glorified patch...well, that's how much the last one cost at least.
Miles @ Sep 16th 2008 9:06AM
It was 10€ in Europe, so I assumed they did the usual conversion 1€ = 1$.
This kind of stuff is like a low blow, and a major deception.
shortyvs @ Sep 15th 2008 2:26PM
Will Trophies be added in a free update, or are they including it in the expansion that you have to pay for? Because that would be dumb.
j.howlett @ Sep 15th 2008 3:23PM
as cool as EoJ is, i'm not really into card games. i want the camera though, i hope there is a LBP bundle
BloodShotRobot @ Sep 16th 2008 2:01PM
So, not only do I have to pay for the right to use new cards I also paid for, but now I have to pay for trophies too? What a rip off.
Overgauss @ Sep 17th 2008 2:31AM
Their pricing scheme is totally redonkulous. It is why I bailed out long ago.
KillerShark1978 @ Sep 17th 2008 10:14AM
am looking forward to this new update, collecting the cards may seem to make this game mega expensive but you have to understand its more than just a game, part of the fun is collecting the cards, so if you can find enjoyment in collecting the cards as well as playing the game then its worth it. as for the earlier comment about been able to complete with just the starter deck that’s bull, maybe when it was just Set 1 you may of stood half a chance but not any more, if you want to be competitive you will have to collect the cards and include Ultra-Rares and Phantoms, although having all the cards is not guaranteed to make you good at the game, you will need all the cards in order to be any good, else you will pass a lot of players playing online who are good and have all the cards and they will beat you fairly easily near every time.
korwyn @ Sep 29th 2008 1:09AM
how cares about Magic the gathering? eye of judgment is a great game. It's good enough for some brainless copycat company to try to bring Magic the gathering to beat it. in fact Magic the gathering might beat the eye of judgment, but at least sony has a lot more pride and originality to creat their own game unlike those retards out there. but if you wanna bring another card game, how about Yu-Gi-Oh!? ;o)
