Activision considering DLC subscription service for Guitar Hero

At Activision Blizzard's Analyst Day, CEO Mike Griffith spoke of plans to offer a subscription service option for the Guitar Hero games. "We're exploring new models, like an annual pass subscription where players can subscribe and get a certain number of songs downloadable each month." No prices or launch dates were discussed, but we are assuming those who regularly purchase DLC for the Guitar Hero games will be able to save a few bucks.

In the realm of rumors, former lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses Slash said a Rolling Stone interview that Guitar Hero: Hendrix is coming. "Well, having the Aerosmith guys do it was very cool 'cause Aerosmith's one of the bands I was heavily influenced by. And Metallica's doing it, that's great. Those are two ones that I think gives it some credibility. And they're doing a Hendrix one, which is great." Activision won't comment on the rumor, but with the guitar virtuoso making an appearance in the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour, it wouldn't surprise us in the least if this came true.

Wake up dude, GH is waaaaaaaaay better than RB. Ya ya ya RB has more songs, but they're all crap. I'd rather play less songs that are at least played on the radio and in my cars CD player, than tracks on well known bands that no ones ever heard or care about. Quality not quanity. Now go back to watching The Hills on MTV, I'll sit here and rock.

You say "quality over quantity" right after saying you'd rather play music you hear on the radio. Isn't that a contradiction in itself?

Each person has his own opinion, but the reason I like Rock Band better isn't because of the song selection (let's face it, both franchises have excellent songs), but 1) the gameplay interface is better and 2) the DLC is cheaper. Note: this is all my opinion. I know I'm foolish for thinking that people on the internet can respect opinions.

Yeah Loser, you sit there and rock, I mean push buttons on a toy guitar. At least with RB I can push buttons AND sing, or play the drums AND sing. GH is boring, RB rules and the DLC is so varied everyone gets something. I mean, 3 tracks from "All That Remains". Not on GH.
