Home Manager says firmware 2.50, Home 1.00 set for October

The firmware update will also be released in conjunction with Home version 1.00, according to the post. Currently, the beta is at version 0.98. The simultaneous release of firmware 2.50 and Home 1.00 has us thinking that perhaps this could mark the beginning of the wide release of Home. Stay tuned.
Update: Since writing this article, the PS.blog has updated about the expansion of the Home beta. More invites are being sent to users right now. The continued growth of the beta adds even more weight to the possibility that the final version of Home will be available next month.

if you were in the beta as i am you wouldn't DARE call it second life.
first of all you can't fly.
this is in HD 720p second life is like crap
this has no p0rn0 like second life does and yea everyone has their apartments and there is not alot of custumization, we don't have tvs or even radios yet....
just saying this is nothing like second life TRUST me

It really is nothing like Second Life. People should probably actually try it out before labelling it as a Second Life clone.

I like second life a little, but it's just way too buggy and bad graphics to play. Though I have played it at 1080p on my TV ;)

Plus, doesn't BioShock have the little Home logo on its cover designating it as supporting Home, and it comes out on 10/20 or 10/21 if I'm not mistaken? I don't think it would have that unless Home were coming out pretty close to it...

I just got my Beta invite today, might check it out this weekend. However, I still believe that this is the biggest waste of time and resources Sony has invested in this generation. I know that the PS3 is supposed to be a digital hub, but the end goal is to produce games and profit. This doesn't seem to get them closer to that goal.

I highly doubt that Home will be a system seller, but I agree that there is advertising revenue to be made at the consumers expense.

I'm in agreement with Skunk Ape.
As long as Home covers the little things that XBLA has then I'll be happy. Home would just be a bonus for me.
I want In-Game XMB Chat, being able to view my pics saved onto my HDD, and being able to change some minor settings while in a game.
Oh and try to fix the loading icons for In-Game XMB load and the PSN ID cards. It looks unprofessional.

Got invited to the Beta today , logged on.
Its very much like Second life , just its a beta.. not a full version yet. Its not going to have the porn or anything adult oriented , clearly since this is going to be for any age, not just adults eventually.
But its very similar to second life, it looks similar.
I think Home is going to define the PS3 from just a black box to the next generation. To think a powerhouse console as its been called is going to be most known for a free program and a silly looking character from littlebigplanet.

well i'll will still be waiting for the open beta in fall, since i never get invites and i think it might have something to do with the type of mail i have(aol mail) or something i have tried everything from turning off the spam blocker and everything but sometimes they still dont get tru or they just keep passing me over =/
