Gackt helps sell PS3 slots game Bounty Killer

Japan's gothic pop idol, Gackt, is trying out more cameos in videogames yet again. Last we saw the skinny effeminate-looking man, he was wearing a red overcoat and spewing lines of pretentious poetry in Crisis Core:Final Fantasy VII -- or, at least his likeness was. Anyway, he's back again and this time in a Japan-only PS3-exclusive slot machine title called Yamasa Digi World SP: Bounty Killer.

The main character in the game (since when did slot machine games need heroes?) is modeled after Gackt, and the multi-talented dude's music will also be featured in the game. Tracks like "Another World," "White Eyes," and "Justified" are included in the soundtrack. The game goes on sale in Japan on October 30 ... but rabid fangirls who've never played slots in their entire lives have probably snatched up all the pre-orders already. Can't wait till this guy dies. Seems like 99% of all male Square Enix Characters = Modeled after Gackt.

I wonder what character your username is taken from...could it be a Gackt inspired character!?
Seriously though, apart from Cloud and Squall not a lot of Nomura's characters are that Gacktish (excluding Genesis cause he IS Gackt) What's the big deal?
I first heard of him after Bujingai and henceforth I've loved everything he's done. Not too sure about a slot game though...:P

I'm surprised he hasn't been sued for "Another World", seeing as how it's a huge rip off of a song from the Josie and the Pussycats movie ["Three Small Words"].

Yeah, the guy sucks, anyway. His music is god-awful, he's basically a wannabe David Bowie, and Tetsuya Nomura seems to be infatuated with him.

Do you have any idea of how hard it is to sing as well as Gackt does?

Excluding the musical complexity and composition of some of he's songs he is widely know for his exceptional singing talent.

I'm more of a black/death/progressive metal guy myself, but no matter what music you like you should still be able to recognize a tremendously talented artist like Gackt.

Aysir: Squall was inspired by River Phoenix, not Gackt. Nomura stated this himself in an interview once.

I'm actually a huge fan of Gackt for some odd reason. Maybe it's the fact that he thinks he's a 200 year old vampire, or maybe it's the fact that that can play so many instruments and speak so many languages... or maybe it's the fact that he does make good music, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ2qkxubxeY
